Three years ago we began the Fund‐A‐Need concept with the purchase of the Accelerated Reading Program. The last two years we have used the Fund‐A‐Need monies to improve our teaching methods by purchasing laptops, digital projectors and document cameras. I am sure your students can report how much this technology has improved his/her classroom experience. This year I wanted to use the Fund‐A‐Need funds to do a project that is directly for the students. Plus there were comments made on the surveys that parents completed for the accreditation that suggested we improve our playground equipment. Therefore, I am requesting your help to purchase new additions to our playground equipment. I met with a committee of students, one from every homeroom and showed them possible playground ideas and selections. These are the three most popular cool new playground structures by far and it was unanimous on some selections. I would like to add the following cool new playground structures:  Climbing Wall ‐ $ 9,800.00 estimate  Sky Runner ‐ $ 3,100.00 estimate  High Stepper Net ‐ $15,250.00 estimate Sub Total ‐ $28,150.00 Installation ‐ 5,000.00 Total $33,150.00 I know this is a huge amount of money. We will only purchase what we raise and may extend this over a two year period. I know in the past that the technologies we purchased, I was proud to say they were Tools not Toys. This year I can say that our needs are more toys than tools, but Mrs. Cornish, our Physical Education teacher, is thrilled with the three cool new playground structures as they can and will be used by the physical education classes and for physical fitness.
