Song and Story Circles are held for infants as well as toddlers and preschoolers. Reading Circle This programme introduces pre-reading and early literacy through play, props and other interactive activities. This is an opportunity for children to use different senses to explore with books. Families will explore interesting stories, sharing their feelings and experiences. Story Circles are held for infants as well as toddlers and preschoolers. Parent Information & Referral Services We offer assistance with referrals, questions and accessing community information and resources over the phone and in person. The program has pamphlets, books and parenting magazines are available. Toronto Preschool Speech and Language Services CMCP partners with Toronto Preschool Speech and Language Services to provide support services for families who have concerns about their child’s speech and language skills. Let’s Get Started Caregiver Support Group This is a eight week free program for parents and their children (18 months to 5 years of age) who need additional developmental support. Parents will receive support and information from a variety of professionals, practical child development information and everyday strategies to support your child’s development. It will give parents an opportunity to play with their children in a safe, learning environment and meet other parents and children. Registration required. Light dinner provided. Home caregivers and nannies are invited to enjoy a friendly interactive environment with many stimulating activities for children. This is an opportunity to share some of your unique experiences as a caregiver, make new friends, learn about other community resources and expand your knowledge of child development. Resource Library Rhyme & Song Circle Our Resource Library is equipped with high quality educational resources and books that maximize learning and enhance the caregiver/child relationship. Developmentally appropriate books and videos are available to borrow. It is also useful for home child care providers allowing for enrichment of their programs. Join us with your baby/toddler/preschooler and take pleasure in songs, rhymes and games. Enjoy lively discussions with a diverse group of parents in a relaxed environment. Share your unique viewpoint and experiences. Make new friends for your baby and you. Snack Time We serve delicious and nutritious snacks to children every day in the program Children try a variety of new snacks. All snacks are free of tree nuts, peanuts and sesame seeds. Participant donations are encouraged and appreciated Make the Connection is an 8 week program for parents or caregivers with children from birth to 1 year. The program consists of hands-on parent-baby activities, parent discussion, videotaping and social time.
