Sharing the Spirit of Reunion with Lights and Fire
Fifty years of camping
at Cedar Valley Grove and
the first ever Lights Over the
Mississippi contest at Camp
Nauvoo, highlight the 2015
reunions.
Reunion 1 starts June 20
and runs through June 26 at
Camp Nauvoo. Campers are
invited to bring yard lights to
decorate their cabin, tent, or
camper for the first Lights
Over the Mississippi contest.
Guest ministry will be
brought by Kevin Bryant and
Damon St. Thomas of the
Powerhouse Church in
Baltimore, MD.
Reunion 2 at Cedar Valley Grove will open with a
bang on July 4 with a grand
50th anniversary celebration.
A co-ed softball tournament
is just one of many activities
for the week ending July 10.
Guest ministry will be
brought by Andrew Bolton,
apostle to the Asia Mission
Field, David and Jewell Bolton,
Laura Phillips and Sandra
Ferguson.
Registration forms and
schedules for both reunions,
and order forms for CVG
anniversary T-shirts, are
available at cvnmc.org.

Gathering
scheduled and had surprising results.
Jane McDonald gave a presentation
about the church oblation program. The
use of world church oblation is encouraged in our mission center, but it does
require that certain guidelines be
followed. An oblation presentation will
be delivered to each congregation by
their financial officer in the near future.
A presentation about audits was given
by Lee Wakefield and Lynn Poplett.
Booking for Reunion:
Bring, Take, Share
It’s a physically heavy job, but it’s
one Doug McFarlane obviously relishes
as he prepares the Cedar Valley-Nauvoo
book recycling collection for the 2015
reunion season.
Lots of selections
have been added to
the collection and are
ready for new owners.
“I would like to
encourage that when
members clean out
their books, they
Doug McFarlane consider donating
them to this ministry,” he says.
Donations from families who do
not know what to do with church related items following the death of a
member are also welcomed. “Only
recently, a family member did not know
what to do with many early Cedar Valley
Grove pictures and information, and
they were tossed,” he said. Pictures,
books, tracts, old camp logs — anything
church related, — are certainly
usable.” Any materials of an historical
nature are given to Lach MacKay at the
Joseph Smith Historic Site in Nauvoo.
At the present time we have
recycled around 2,000 books, quarterlies, and pamphlets. Thank you for providing the opportunity for the print and
slide materials to keep on ministering.
