The tradi onal Alumni Day, 8th December 2015 was celebrated at the

GRE preparatory workshop and mock tests were arranged at GCUF in

Thesis Display at College of Art & Design
Provincial Minister for Minori es, Mr. Khalil Tahir Sandhu visited the
GCUF to check security measures accompanied by DCO Mr. Noor ul Amin
Mangal and other high ups of Faisalabad. He also had a session with
students and faculty regarding security measures.

and love. Love was the reason of spread and growth of Islam in the
subcon nent. On this occasion, Khawaja Ghulam Qutab-ud-Din Freedi
presented a cheque of Rs.50000 to the Vice Chancellor for research on
Sufism. In the end, the poetry of Ameer Khusro and Maulana Roomi was
presented in the form of qawali. A great number of students and teachers
enjoyed the performance of qawali crooners.
Awareness Seminar on Polio and Measles
along with the faculty received the Chief Guest and was escorted by
the organizing commi ee to the Main Hall. The Principal presented
the College Report and the Vice Chancellor showed his sa sfac on

Examina on
Polio and Measles are ge ng much common in our society. Polio is
affec ng the children under the age of 5 years. It is transmi ed through
feco-oral route. Pakistan is one of the highly affected countries of the
world. Measles is affec ng newly born babies up to 9 months of age.
As it is a highly contagious disease, it is easily transmi ed through air.
To create awareness about these two diseases, Directorate of Medical
Sciences organized a seminar on this topic. Prof. Dr Muhammad Ali,
Vice Chancellor, Government College University, Faisalabad was Chief
Guest of the program. Prof. Muhammad Ali Tirmizi, Principal Punjab
Medical College was the guest of Honor. Prof. Dr. Hina Ayesha, Professor
of Pediatrics, EDO Health, Dr. Nawazish Ali Goraya, Dr. Masood Bukhari

World Women Day
The office of the Dean, Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Learning organized
a walk and seminar in connec on with Women Day celebra ons. Prof.

Dr. Humayun Abbas Dean Faculty of Islamic & Oriental Learning and Dr.

was the Chief Guest. Dr. Fakhr ul Haq Noori, Dr. Saadat Saeed, Prof. Dr.
Humayon Abbas, Dr. Asif Awan, Dr. Asghar Baloch, Dr. Saeed Ahmad, Dr.
Jameel Asghar, Dr. Naeem Bazmi, Mr. Tariq Habib, Mr. Abid Sial and Mr.
Nasir Abbas Syed presented their papers on the salient features of the
poetry of Majeed Amjad.
Department of Islamic and Arabic Studies organized two days Naat
Khawani workshop at Government College University, Faisalabad. The
workshop provided an opportunity to the students to learn the basics of
Naat Khawani. Mr. Manzoor-ul-Konain was the keynote speaker.
Workshop on Biotechnology
ORIC organized a five day workshop on Biotechnology at Government
College University, Faisalabad. Chief Guest, Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Director,
Agricultural Biotechnology Research Ins tute, Faisalabad discussed the
importance of research in Molecular Biotechnology and how it can open
new vistas in research.

Prof. Dr. Abdulhamit Birisik of Marmara University, Istambul delivered a
lecture to Ph.D. students on research and apprised the students about
research carried on the topics of Quran, Fiqah and Mys cism in Turkey.

GCUF. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali received the worthy guest at the main
campus. Both the Vice Chancellors held a session on improving research

stated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali at the Laptop Distribu on Ceremony. A
large number of students at GCUF received laptops under the PM Laptop
Scheme. Prof. Dr. I ikhar Hussain Bukhari along with his team managed
the whole ac vity at Faiz Ahmad Faiz Hall.
Seminar on Moulvi Ghulam Rasool Alampuri
Department of Punjabi, Government College University, Faisalabad
organized a seminar on poet Moulvi Ghulam Rasool Alampuri. Dr. Asma
Ghulam Rasool, Dr. Asif Awan, Mr. Masood Ahmad discussed the salient
features of his poetry. Earlier, Department of Punjabi also celebrated
‘Mother Tongue Day’ (Maa Boli) in which students and teachers
par cipated in a walk.

The Directorate of Students Affairs organized different inter departmental
co-curricular compe ons under the umbrella of socie es. Compe ons
in Naat, Debates, Drama cs, Quiz, Singing, Cooking were organized at
the main campus of the University. Dress compe ons were organized
by the College of Arts and Design in collabora on with the Directorate of
Students Affairs. Owing to the par cipa on of large number of students
different rounds of compe ons were organized.
