was there. It just needed a little attention to finnish it.

Lyrics:
Vulnerable, I feel so vulnerable
Being here with you
Vulnerable I feel so vulnerable
Can this all be true?
I'm in love with you
Are you in love with me?
Do you feel the same way too?
Vulnerable, I feel so vulnerable
Just being here with you
Incredible, it’s so incredible
Have all my dreams come true?
Incredible, it's so incredible
You say you love me too
All my life
I have been searching
For someone just like you
Now it’s Incredible, it’s so incredible
Have all my dreams come true?
When did this happen?
How did it start?
We used to be just friends
Now we're sharing
All the love in our hearts
Again and again and again
Invincible, we feel invincible
Now we’ve found a love that's true
Invincible, we feel invincible
As we start our lives anew
And together, as we face the world
Is there nothing we can’t do
We feel Invincible, yet we are vulnerable
Now we've found a love that's true

Come Across
(The Water is Wide/The friendship bridge)
Dan PLEWS (UK), Lars GRAULUND (DK)
02.12. - 04.12.2011, Bukarest, Romania
Background: Co-writing session
We were asked to write about the partnership’s goals and our experiences of Romania.
We’d crossed over the river Danube previously - The Giurgiu-Ruse Friendship Bridge was
a focus of the song.
Some of the tune and some words are borrowed from a traditional English-language song,
‘The Water is Wide’ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Water_Is_Wide_(song). The song
was not finished at the workshop, but worked on a few months later individually and via
Skype.

Chorus
Across the river
wide and deep
There's a bridge you can build
And a place you can meet
It's up to you
You make the call
To build a bridge
Or build a wall.
For every ripple on the skin
There's one afraid of diving in
Come Across
Chorus
Lyrics:
Across the river; the river runs deep
People watch from the shallows but this side is so steep
And I can't take your arms Put wings in their stead
We can never be free Like the birds overhead
For every weeping willow there's a lonely tearstained pillow
Come across
The water is wide but don't be afraid
We're not confined to the choices we've made
Don't drown on your pride or decide just to stay
If you thirst for
Don’t drown on your pride if you thirst for embrace
Die of righteous thirst
People gaze from a distance to the opposite shore
Some sharpening knives others feed the poor
There are stones in the bed
Cold stones for a bed; cold clay for food
Some hold others up; some hold them in thrall
Sharp sand for a bridge, cold clay for a wall
Some sharpen their knives, some feed the poor;
Some raise others up, some keep others in thrall;
Some spend all their lives looking out from the shore
You can burn down a bridge or you can knock down a wall
For every breeze that bends the reed
There's a slender hope to feed
Come across

Background: Co-Writing Session - the „Oldies“ wrote a song together
This was a co-writing exercise in Bucharest based on our experience of Romania.
Every morning when we came down to breakfast in the Restaurant the TV was on and the
weather was presented every half hour by an attractive young girl, in short pink pants.
Later on an outing to the city we saw the same girl featured on a Billboard promoting the
Radio Station. She became the inspiration for the Song.

Background: Co-Writing-Session: Impressions from the Art Museum
We had a long discussion to get to know each other. Christof was impressed by the
mirrors in the museum wher you could see yourselve how others see you, but not how you
see yourseve… We discussed black holes: thinks other preople know about you, but you

we wrote the song…

When you hurt somebody, feeling small
and you knock (bump) your head against the wall.
When you’re cleaning the dirt and the damage and dirt is still there
and you’re trying and trying and trying and trying to care.
When you fail at the doorstep before you get close
and your shivering whisper is honest as far as it goes.
When you’re smiling at me and we’re shining like nothing at all
and you’re ready for love, oh, you’re ready – and ready to fall.
Chorus
There’s a mirror behind you a mirror in front
and a mirror for all that you do.
Open your eyes, accept what you see

Background:
We were asked to write a song arising out of our visit to the local museum. One section of
the museum was dedicated to different types of rooms. This led us to conceive of different
rooms in our heads where different activities take place.
I’ve been working all my life
From 9 to 5
From 9 to 5
I’ve got an office and a car
I’ve come far
I’ve come far
Lyrics & Chords:
[G] I thought i heard you [D/f#]calling
From that [Em] room somewhere inside my [C] head
[-/c] It [-/b] was [Am] good to hear your voice a-[D]-gain
Chorus:
This is where I want to be
But sometimes I want to
Break free (x 2)
[G] I thought that i was [D/f#] falling
From that [Em] room somewhere inside my [C] head
[-/c] It [-/b] was [Am] good to be in love a-[D]-gain
In love a-[G]-gain [g - f#]
I’ve got two children and a wife
They’re doing fine
They’re doing fine
I’ve got everything I need
I did succeed
I did succeed
[Em] Hearing your voice
[H7] Feeling you´re near
[G] Falling in love a-[C]-gain
[-/c -/b] [Am] Oh, how i wish [D7] this was for real
In-[G]-stead of being [-/f#] just in my [Em] head
In-[C]-stead of being [-/c] just [b] in [a] my [D] head
in my [G] head
[G] I no longer hear you [D/f#] calling
From that [Em] room somewhere inside my [C] head
[-/c] Will [-/b] i [Am] ever be in love a-[D]-gain
And [G] now i fell my world is [D/f#] falling
In that [Em] room somewhere inside my [C] head
[-/c] Will [-/b] i [Am] ever be in love a-[D]-gain
In love a-[G]-gain [g - f#]
Chorus:
This is where I want to be
But sometimes I want to
Break free (x 2)
But where would I go?
I don’t know
[Em] Hearing your voice
[H7] Feeling you´re near
[G] Falling in love a-[C]-gain
[-/c -/b] [Am] Oh, how i wish [D7] this was for real
In-[G]-stead of being [-/f#] just in my [Em] head

Follow The Master
Peter V. OLESEN (DK), Shane Ó FEARGHAIL (IE)
01.04.2012, Aahrus, Denmark
Background:
Our task was to write a song about a trip to the museum After visiting the local museum
we were, part from all the excellent exhibits in Aarhus we were considerably taken with the
Bowie art piece located in the basement. That weekend there was also a National front
rally in the city. That also made its way into the song. A song about standing up and
speaking your truth.
Co-Write Songbook
Chorus
The more you follow the master
The more they tell you to go faster
That it wont end up with distaster
So fuck the bastards
Replace life with blue
And see what you become
Their truth will not be true
To sons of swollen scum
But we got Bowie in the basement
Bowie in the basement
Bowie in the basement
Bowie in the basement

Lyrics:
Bowie in the basement
Talking from the wall
In many different colours
About nothing at all
Everything you feel is a lie
What you touch is a lie
You're gonna have to kiss it goodbye
Kiss it goodbye
Now your priceless flag is gonna fall
Chorus
The more you follow the master
The more they tell you to go faster
That it wont end up with distaster
So fuck the bastards
Colours from the rooftops
Colours all around
Colouring your ears
With demonstrated sounds
They tell you everything you feel is a lie
To feel is a lie
We've got no proof to prove
But at least we will try
And your christlike flag
Is gonna fall
And Jesus knows
What you came for

Background:
Co-writing session, we were randomly put in groups of two people that had never cowritten a song
Background: Shane was waiting for Jacob.
Our task was to co - write. Names where picked out of a hat with two writers being pared
off. My co-writer never showed up. So I had to write alone. My mystery co-writer was
Jacob. Hence "Jacobs silence". I wrote about experiences over the weekend - Right wing
marches in Aarhus, German art exhibition from World War 2 (Aarhus) as well as issues I
was working through at home ie the Irish almost loosing their language due to invasions.
Somehow I equated this experience tp Denmark with this. Vikings maybe.
Performance:
• Sidebar, Aarhus (DK)
• Private session at Brzezina Castle, Brzezina (PL)
Chords & Lyrics:
Intro: Em
Verse 1: C – Am – Em x 4
Climbing cliff after cliff
Struggling more with every step
When I stumble, I get up
‘cause I’ve got to reach the top
Recording:
https://soundcloud.com/shane_fearghail/jacobssilence?in=shane_fearghail/sets/grundtvig-playing-for
Chorus: D – Am – Em
Through rain and snow
Forward I go
Through rain and snow
Forward I go
And I have been around
Too long to not know how
To speak of weakness and of wars/walls
Silence is golden now
I am much older and
I'll be the keeper of my cause
It's under the bridge
You will find me
Lamenting the words that they stole
The difference laid bare
For all to see
I'll hold out for something to hold/own
Verse 2:
Sometime I wake up in the night
And wonder: Am I doing right?
Why am I here in freezing cold
When I could sit by the fire back home
Light is not broken down
By worried wearied clowns
They'll come with weak limbs
And in cars
Chorus
Bridge: Hm - Am - Hm - Am
Hm - Am - C - Dadd2add4
Now I’m standing at the top
What a magnificent view
But over there’s a mountain even taller
I’ve got to climb that too
And above the bell tops loud
These minds will work it our
These heads can only think through scars
And pictures in frames
Talk to me
And show me the colours we own
Still covered with words
Brought to me
Let's talk about things that we know
Chorus
So speak to me - Carefully
Speak to me with small words
Shine your light
For all to see
Shout it out be heard!

Hello, my dear friend
Hope that I will see you again
It seems
That I have lost your track
Little Lars was kicking cans
Down by the river
Sent by Johnny from the blocks
With a parcel to deliver
Everyday at 6 o'clock
Beneath the harbor lights
She'll arrive
Lyrics:
Hello, my dear friend
It never turned out the way we planned
I wish
That I could turn back time
Suited in his Sunday best
Dressed like a killer
Doing Johnny's turns and deeds
Like a gorilla
Waiting for the girl to come with
A pocket full of light
She'll arrive
Chorus:
Past can never be undone
Words can never be unsaid
We were just foolish and young
But if we would, we could
Forgive and forget
So now, my dear friend
Wish I knew where you went
I hope
Someday I’ll get a chance again
Maybe she used to be so colorful she'd glow
She'll arrive
And she would shine like diamonds
Everywhere she'd go
Now her eyes are empty
Heart is beating slow
But tonight
But tonight
She'll be alright
Chorus

A tune I heard somebody whistling,

It was by chance I came by her
I wasn’t looking for love
But from the moment I saw her
She was my reason to live
But I could see it in her eyes
She had heaven on her mind
And no worries
My thoughts were only about her
And all my dreams were too
How I longed to be with her
To make my dreams come true
But I could see it in her eyes
She had heaven on her mind
And no worries
Chorus
I longed to tell her I loved her
I wish she knew how I cared
But she was going somewhere special
And I could not go there
It was so good to be with her
Even though I knew
I would soon be without her
And there was nothing I could do

Background: We were just free styling one afternoon in the city sleep-in Aarhus.
Background:
Co-write session, after a walk along the coast we spoke about relationships and came to
interesting tree were parents hang up their children’s soother’s/dummy’s
I was thinking of writing a letter
I thought about it but I stopped with one line
I was thinking my hearts just being broken
So I’m trying hard to love with my mind
Performed:
• Side Bar in Aarhus
So then I thought I’d write you a sonnet
I thought about it but I stopped with one verse
I was trying hard to rhyme about the good times we’ve had
But I can’t, I’m going crazy it still hurts
Chords: C, Am, F & G
Do you like it ? where you are? Have I asked too much? Have I gone to far?
But how far have you gone ? how many? turn the truth on have you even met your limit?
Chorus
So what’s the use if you
And your love lies loose
or your lover hides a smile
So what’s the use if you
got the point of view of a statue in the wild
Will you like it were youll be? Do you think you’d notice or remember me?
Or are you used up? Does your heart just abuse love? or were you lovein every minute?
Cause you used all your magic and all those bad men had it as for me im just a filler
Cause you used all your magic and all those bad men had it as for me im just a filler
I decided to call around to see you
I scraped a bus fare from a drunk I know well
It’s through condensation I could only see you
It’s so cold my mind’s drifting away
So if only good guys hurt, then for what its worth loving you is a killer
x2
It’s then that I see her face gleaming
Berlin through the window instead
And that’s when I seen the most beautiful smile
It was you with someone else, our loves dead

Did I see you walking away?
Even though you wanted to stay
Did I see you turning your head
Was it something one of them said
Don’t you know every time you back down?
You’re just inviting more trouble around
Did I see a smirk on his face?
They are taking over your space
Are they really as strong as you feel?
Is it time for you to get real
Here we go again. Turning our cheek
Here we go again. Don’t dare speak
Here we go again. Future seems bleak
Here we go again. Why are we so week
Again Again Again
Together, we can stand our ground
Together, they can’t push us around
Together, we can be free
Together , we can claim our dignity.
Here we go again. Standing our ground
Here we go again. Don’t push us around
Here we go again. We won’t be put down
Here we go again. Future is sound

Overhung winter’s day
Feel like I am running out of grace

If I knew how I would change my ways
Change my ways, change my ways
Tuning: DADGAD
Dm - C
There once was a witch who longed to be caught
She yearned to be burned on the fire
It tickled her skin and her sense of sin
She did it again and again
Rocks are rising, water low
Running out of unmarked roads to go
Drying eyes, burning throat
Thorns are all that I can get to grow
Get to grow, get to grow
Her wealth of red curls put a spell on the world
She enchanted each man by the sea
With a splash of romance and a sprinkle of dance
A potion of beauty and dream
Drying up, drying out
Winter drought
With a beard of a goat
Hoof of a stag
Tear of an eye
That´s never been sad
Dust rains down, the wind it blows
My thirst is going to overflow
Drowning eyes, flooding soul
Desert caught me in its undertow
Undertow, undertow
A dragonfly wing
Leg of a roach
Tip of a tongue
Blood of a toad
Drying up, drying out
Winter drought
Drying up, drying out
Winter drought
Trail of a snail
Nail and a horn
Heart of a child
Who´s never been born
And the whole of the village would stare:
They called her Miranda May!
There once was a girl with a walk of a witch
A witch with the bubbles and broom
She brewed for the few and all those who knew
That she stole the light from the moon
With a beard of a goat....

Lyrics:
Performed: various, as a duo and separately.
Green woods - Rain is falling - Paths are winding - Through the trees
Walking - Without compass - Sun is shining - Through the leaves
Lyrics:
Sit yourself down cut some peace of mind
To thine own self be true, be true and be kind
There’s a place I’ve been keeping for you at this table of mine
You’ve been waiting so long for that good ship to come
You’ve a thousand-yard-stare in your eyes
Sat alone on the beach on your throne turning time and tide
Silence - Is unbroken - Time is frozen - Sorrow flees
Secrets - Never spoken - Gently whispered - On the breeze
Slowly - Night is falling - Shadows stretching – On the ground
Watching - Light withdrawing - Darkness growing - All around
Slowly - We are lifted - We are falling – To the sky
Yielding - To the calling - Of the greenwoods – Lullaby
Chorus:
Time and tide, Currents change, Water flowing, into the floodplains
The fall and the rise, Presence leaves, But something remains x 2
Time and tide, time and tide.
Put your feet up loosen your ties, Let the visor fall from your eyes
All the armour you wear to protect you is just a disguise.
When you drift out so far I can’t see who you are - Just a head in the swell and the sound
And when things weigh you down I can’t tell if you’re waving or drowned.

03.06.2013, Ruse, Slovenia
Daniel KELLEHER (IE), Katharina GADE (DE)
02.06.2012, Ruse, Slovenia
Background:
Last co-write put in groups of three with the instruction to write a gratitude song saying
what this meeting means to you. We decided to write about musical integration so we
combined three languages and let our passion speak through the music (7/8th fast balkan
beats played with djembe, akkordeon and guitar)
The words are repetitive to emphasise the flow of life and the connection through music.
Background: Kat asked Daniel to help her write a song for her mother´s retirement who
stopped being a teacher.
Performance:
• Internal song-writing presentation same day
Recording:
https://soundcloud.com/playing4integration/water-wasser-voda
Performance: At the farewell party of Kat´s mother
Lyrics:
My mama´s cool – how cool?
She´s got these moves – what moves?
She does this thing – yeah!
Where she twists and turns and the whole room groves
She bakes that cake – what cake?
Of homegrown fruits – aha
if you wanna taste – yeah
well, you´d better get in line at the end of the quew
Chords: Am / Em / F / G
water – wasser – voda
wind – wind – wiatre
stars – sterne – gwiasdy, he!
(Slide on D7!)
My mama told me, she said
„you always got a bed.“ - yeah, yeh, yeah!
My mama holds me,
if I ever need she´s always there.
My mama knows me,
all the silly thoughts that go through my head!
My mama´s gold, you see
if you want a piece she´ll always share...
(Break on B7!)
And if I ever grow up, Mama,
I wanna be just like you!
I wanna be just like you!
Mama, you´re cool!
She wears this smile – what smile?
To match her heart on her sleeve – aha
She´s got that drive - yeah
And it taught me how to life my life with ease!
My mama told me, she said
„you always got a bed.“ - yeah, yeah, yeah!....
And if I ever grow up, Mama,
I wanna be just like you!
I wanna be just like you!
Mama, you´re cool!

Chords & Lyrics:
Intro violin
Verse 1: Em – A7 - Am - C - D
In a place made mostly of green
Runs a lady so free
She falls then she waits.
Her bed is made of roses and seeds
She waits only to breath
Our love.
Chorus: Em – A7 - Am - C - D
She curves, curls, crawls,
Down trough the valleys, to the mountain and falls,
Where she's waiting, always waiting
She's the echo of everyone's call.
And tall, trees, touch,
They’re tangled in roots of pure love
Where she's waiting, always waiting
She's the echo of everyone's call. x2
Bridge: Em – A7 - Am - C - D
But under the cover of darkness she rumbles
An earthquake volcano, the sound of her thunder
Her beauty, her power and all of her wonders awake.
Chorus:
She curves curls crawls
down trough the valleys to the mountain and falls
where she's waiting allways waiting
she's the echo of everyone's call
And tall trees touch
there tangled in roots of pure love
where she's waiting allway's waiting
she's the echo of everyone's call.

And on our way we’re gonna form a band
If you can you’re all welcome to play
And if you can’t whatever, what the hay.

All these kids they want to be you
All these people they want to see you
All these planes they keep on landing
No one ever understands it but we’re always in demand x2

Lyrics & Chords:
There was a time I did not know you
You meant nothing to me
There was a time I had not heard of
On the bowl of green that surround us
There are mountains of trees that astound us
With birds singing out natures call
Over a magical waterfall
On the bowl of green that surround us
Your people or your history
Then slowly you revealed yourself
And all that you can be
Slovenia now I love you
And all you have come to mean to me
Chorus
Though the sights and the scenes have no equals
Where fields of bright green have no end
It always comes back to the people
In this little heaven on earth
Chorus
Slovenia, you come to me
From out of my dreams
Slovenia you show to me
All that you can be.
And now that I am here with you
You take my breath away
Slovenia now I love you in oh so many special ways
Though the heights of the cliffs may be lethal
Where rivers and streams are best friends
It always comes back to the people
In this little heaven on earth
The smiles on the people who greet us
Every time that they come out to meet us
Always make us feel at home
We never have to feel alone
With the smiles on the people who greet us
Was it the people or the countryside?
That made me fall in love
Was it the mountains or the rivers
or the blue skies up above
I really don't know what it was
That brought you close to me
Slovenia now I love you
And all you have come to mean to me

Lyrics
The autumn has arrived
And you who have no lover
Sit down next to me
Rest your head on my shoulder
Your grain it is ripe
And your straw it is yellow
And me I am still a very lively fellow
Oh........
Now the atmosphere is right
And I am very mellow
She slapped me on the face
And now my nose is yellow
How sad is my life
I am really a nice fellow
But my grain is not ripe
And my straw is not yellow
Oh .......
I'm just mad about Saffron
Saffron’s mad about me
I'm just mad about
Saffron's mad about me
They a call me mellow yellow
(Quite rightly)
They a call me mellow yellow

The Things I 'd Like To Be
Shane Ó FEARGHAIL (IE), Pamela DEMPSEY (IE)
01.06.2012, Ruse, Slovenia
Background: This song came to fruition from a melody that came to me as I walked down
the stairs from my hotel room to the music centre. It was a beautiful day and I had, for
some reason, polka's and waltzes bouncing around inside my head. Having come from
Vienna and surrounds I had been heavily influenced by it's centre and its heart, short as it
was sweet it stayed with me! I brought the melody and the idea to the party, feeling a little
worse for ware after the previous nights cross cultural excursions walked into the room,
grabbed Pamela and we walked into a field and I wrote like a man possessed. Pamela
acted as a sound board editor. When I sing this song I feel like singing 'Wooden Heart"
made famous by Elvis (Written by Twomey, Kay / Weisman, Ben / Kaempfert, Bert / Wise,

Oh my God I'm falling apart at the seams again
Oh my God I'm falling apart at the seams again
Oh my God I'm falling apart at the seams again
Lyrics:
Oh my God I'm falling apart at the seams again
It's no use I'll smile and I'll smile and I'll smile

As I wonder
I think of all the things I'dl ike to be

Background: A song that was hard to find. After a very long weekend of writing and
workshops in Slovenina, Pamela, Peter and myself where put together. We pitched and
patched at an idea and over a nice cool well needed beer we found a light and a source.
After that it came very quickly. Still a little shape needed we feel there are some really nice

Background: First co-write, inspiration by sitting in a library and grabbing books, reading
titles and playing around with words. Jamming and recording.
Performance:
• Church in Naas
Lyrics:
I might be travelling to India
On a donkey’s back to the Himalaya
And when I think I finally reached the top
There’ll be more to climb
I got no clue what I’m trying to find
The more you see the more you want to see
The more you get, the more you want to get
The more I know, the less I understand.
The moment gives time to timelessness
Chorus:
I guess I have to overcome my fear.
I’m always somewhere else but never here.
Release my speedy craving crazy little mind.
Here’s the key: Seize to be!
Stillness in time…
You might find me fighting with my big desire for excitement.
Or the daily struggle to zigzag through this and that and good or bad.
It´s hard to be all over the place.
Welcome to my world of splinted space.
I guess….

Co-Write Songbook
Just a raincoat, a scarf
And my warm blue vest.
No guns, no map,
No phone, no money, no sign
Just good shoes for my feet
And questions in my mind.
Verse 3:
A tiny woman in a big red car
Suddenly slows down
Hitchhiker standing on the side of the road
Miles from any town.
Her face lights up when she sees the case:
“I have a favor to ask of you.
Can you play that fiddle for me?
I’ll take you anywhere you want me to.”
Chorus 2
Coda:
So smile, smile, smile
Smile to every woman, every guy,
Smile, smile, smile, smile
Smile to the earth and to the sky
The road to happiness doesn’t exist
The road a happiness is.
Old twin brothers out cutting wood
Rain pouring down
Hitchhiker standing on the side of the road
Miles from any town.
Whatcha got in that big blue pack?
Hope you don’t have a gun with you,
We don’t like strangers, and we’re 81
So – where are you going to?
Chorus 1: Am F - C G - Am F - C G
I might go east
I might go south
Just apple for my throat
Apples for my mouth.
No guns, no map,
No phone, no money, no sign
Just good shoes for my feet
And questions in my mind.
Verse 2:
A great parted beard, tattoos on his head,
Red sun going down,
Hitchhiker standing on the side of the road
Miles from any town.
Back seat filled with cooking pots
Carrots, leeks, potatoes for soup
“Guess what? I’m a pimp” he says with a smirk
So – where you going to?
Chorus 2:
I might go north,
I might go west,

Background:
Based on impressions of Ireland, as we had seen it.
We started out, back from at trip to monestary ruins in Glendalough, the equally inspirated
things and traditions, and spirituality combined with earthly appetite on life.
It’s obvious that being 4 in a co-writing proces is not the easiest thing and while not
everybody provided the same amount of chords or words, everybody was in their own way
an important part of the proces. And we were all happy about the song as well as the
process, and the performance at the Civic Theater.

Background:
After a silent walk trough the Palace grounds where we were staying Dorota began to hum
a melody and we took it from there
Chords: D , A, G, Em
Crazy dreams fall on musical pillows
freckled freaks fall for spooky daughters
hazy summers wrapped in wrinkeled clouds
breezy waters marry crippeled roses.
Falling asleep
Wake up on your barstoel
a bachelor's view is the view of a fool.
All these make-ups and break-ups
a barstoel's view is the view of a fool.
Won't you wake up and see..
Breezy man lost on winding roads.
Smoothly talking with crumpeled notes.
Single swans feather lonely vessel
touching love is touching nettle.
Wake up, won't you wake up
This is no place for love, this is no place to hide!
Wake up, won't you wake up.
There's a whole world waiting, there's a whole world outside....

Lyrics:
Spin their webs across the tracks; carry a small ones on their backs
With social skills and spinnerets they cast around and spin their nets
and trap what their life lacks.
Each morning sun kaleidoscopes through multi-coloured spinning ropes
And there’s no sane soul can gauge their timetable or age
They love and live in hope
Chorus:
Morning brings a string of pearls
while they survey and guard dead jewels
And cross the tracks with scant regard for temporary schedules
And spiders…….. are waiting for the train.
While the Gods look on in hope through their electron microscope
Ancient isotopes decay and all the while they spin away
At their double helix rope
And when the ropes are rent asunder, they cross the tracks and spin another
They die for love or poison prey bind them so they can’t run away
They love and they smother
Chorus
Bridge:
Dawn’s red sun will rise again
No web spun is spun in vain
Sleepers lie still with closed eyes
Time stands still as it flies
For Spiders
Spiders…..are waiting for the train.

Hm – F#m – C# - F#m
There’s an old man in a tower
Counting every hour
Wishing for the power
To bring time to a halt.

Dreaming of the meadow
Bathing in the sun.
Chorus 1: A – E – Hm – D – F#m – E – D
Tick-tock, tick-tock
You’re the servant of the clock
And the glock goes
Tick-tock, tick-tock

Verse 2:

Always contemplating
But his hopes keep fading
As the years pass by.
In the end he gave up his fight
And at the stroke of midnight
Hanging in the moonlight
Was his silhouette.

But i have four as well.
Verse 1: Am – F – C – Em
Fuck all this trying
And fuck all this nice
If you see me in our lane
You best hope that it's bright
‘Cause I told you before
When in the same place
Don’t rub it in
Or we’ll see who’ll lose face.
Chorus: Am – F – C – Em

Verse 2:

Chords & Lyrics:
Violin intro
Verse 1: Em – B7 – Am – C – B
They get paid to see you nod and smile,
Are you a shrink, or my biggest fan?
I’m just a friend with some good advice,
Just nod and smile, nod and smile with me.
Be the crowd at your music fare
Like a clown in a rocking chair
So when death comes to greet you,
You’ll just nod and smile, nod and smile like me.
Chorus: Em – B7 – Am – C – B
But don’t look at me,
‘Cause I’m not half the man I used to be,
Instead of one they think I’m three
And since I found you I’ve lost half of me.
Verse 2:
You say friend but I ain’t seen your face,
I block my ears but I still hear your voice
No machine can delete me
So I just nod and smile, nod and smile back at you.
It’s when your interest’s all but fade away
In what your guardian or your lovers say,
That’s when I’ll come to greet you,
I’ll make you nod and smile, nod and smile with me.
Chorus:
But don’t look at me,
‘Cause I’m not half the man I used to be,
Instead of one they think I’m three
And since I found you I’ve lost half of me.
But how can this be?
See, I’m not sure if even this shit’s real,
I might just wake up from my dreams
And I’ll see you stand there and you’ll laugh back at me.

Love’s Here to Stay
After a troubled day
I put all my cares away
And then I turn to see
If you are waiting there for me
Some days are long
Some days are longer
The minute you come along
Love's here to stay
And then we walk along
And everything's alright
Walking hand in hand
We go into the night
Some nights are along
Some nights are longer
Whenever I am with you
Love's here to stay
And when we’re together
Time always stands still
And nothing else matters
And nothing ever will
After a peaceful night
It's time to let you go
I long to hold you tight
But in my heart I know
Some mornings are long
Some mornings are longer
Whenever I am with you
Love's here to stay
Some days our love is strong
Some days our love it stronger
Whenever I am with you

Lyrics & Chords: Composition in 6/8th
Maria Andreea B"L"NEAN (RO), Katharina GADE (DE)
11.07.2013, Alteglofsheim, Germany
Intro violin
Background:
Co-writing session with guideline (sentences for inspiration):
Andreea and Katharina picked three sentences for inspiration ("I died in Ireland and went
to Poland", "The grass suddenly spoke", "Fly on the wings of love!") and chose to co-write
in the historical "Tafelzimmer" of the castles which contains a grand piano; Andreea
already had an idea on the violin and we decided to work with this rather old-fashioned
and baroque sounding melody. Soon the idea of writing about a tragic suicide story of a
young woman living in a castle in Poland became the story line. The whole co-write took
about three hours. We decided to just use violin and voice to make it even more dramatic.

Verse 1: Gm – Gm6 – Eb – D7
There was a girl behind white curtains
When silent grass began to die
Her mother gone, her father withered
Broken skin, imprisoned alive.
Verse 2:
She was a child, so pure and fragile
They used to love her knotted hair
When the flower blossomed he cut the petals
Her mother in despair.
Pre-Chorus x2
The castle´s rooftop, the castle´s rooftop,
Josephine stop, Josephine stop!
Wings are bleeding, wings are bleeding
History´s repeating!

Chorus: Eb maj – Bb – Dm – Eb
She´s waiting for the water to wash away the truth
Waiting for the water to bring back her youth.

She died a hundred years ago
She took her live but never did go.

Background:
Co-write session with guideline ("contra dictional co-write" such as rebellious Schlager,
aggressive folksong, corny punk tune, nasty lullaby). Danai, Guy and Katharina decided to
work with the idea of the "nasty lullaby" and created a rather horrific scenery with a happy,
Irish sounding melody accompanied only by a mandolin. The co-write took three hours and
was presented the same evening at the co-write-presentation in Alteglofsheim.

So hush, hush, Luci
Hush, hush, little Luci
Hush, hush, Luci
Sleep tight, little Lucifer!
Vampires are close

what howl and floats
is the ghost of your mother
Like you I could´t sleep
she snored like a beast
with your pillow I creeped
I creeped up and I smothered her…

Hush, hush, Luci…
Sleep tight, little Lucifer!
Sleep tight
let the bed bugs bite
Frankenstein´s wife
making bat blood cocoa
So here´s a knife
keep it by your side
if the world ends tonight
you won´t be woken.
It´s a full moon
the werewolf´s in tune
it´s feeding time
and the door lock is broken…
Chorus
And if you don´t believe me
ask the man under your bed
or the witches in the closet,
ask the one with no head.
And why fear the spiders
when there´s creatures with more legs
no use counting sheep
cause the sheep are all dead.

Night and Day
Lucjan WESOLOWSKI (PL), Tony BARDON (IE)
15.07.2013, Alteglofsheim, Germany
Background:
As a co-writing exercise we were asked to write a song that would deal with unexpected
opposites or unexpected contrasts. So we decided to write about “Night and Day”
In normal life we expect to be stressed during the day and use the night to refresh
ourselves. We decided to use a very relaxed music to describe our experience of the day
and frenetic music to describe our experience of the night.
Recording: https://soundcloud.com/tony-bardon/night-and-day-rough-mix
But just now the gremlins start
They are coming after me
Showing me some dreadful things
I don't want to see
Thinking me some awful thoughts
That I don't want to think
My watch is saying four o'clock
I haven't slept a wink
I think that I will go downstairs
And watch some more TV
And maybe I will fall asleep
Or sleep will fall on me
Performance:
15.07.2013: Internal Concert
All the time we dream we'll live
In a cool and stressless way
But our lives are all so fast
We struggle every day
Chorus

In our dream we're so relaxed
And laid back all the time
I wish that I could spend some time
In this dream of mine
Cmaj7 Dm7 - G7 Cmaj7
Am7 Dm/B - B7b9 E7
Chorus
Am7 D7 - F7 E7 Am7
Am7 D7 - F7 E7 Am7
Every night I go to bed
To refresh my mind
Empty my thoughts from my head
And leave my cares behind
(Gotta get sleep)
D7 Am7 - D7 Am7 - D7 F7 E7 Am7
It's such a joy to close my day
And to drift off to sleep
To leave the surface of my life
And go into the deep
Chorus
And now I'm in the sleep olympics
And it's nearly time to go
I am almost ready to sleep fast
There's no time to do it slow
I've had my herbal tea
And turned off my TV
And for the next six hours
I will be free
I will wake up in the morning
I will feel so refreshed
I will meet a brand new dawning
Ready for the world of stress

Background:
We were challenged to make a contra-dictional co-write; such as rebellious Schlager,
aggressive folksong, corny punk tune, nasty lullaby.
We set out writing an anti establishment protest song to a jazzy feel-good melody.
Background: Co-Write Session; The song started from a chord sequence played in 5/4
time signature which turned into a jam session between Anna & Conor. We took the
concept of trying to keep a relationship alive and not letting it get into a rut through the
daily repetitive humdrum of life, as the core idea for the lyrics.
Performance: Musikakademie Alteglofsheim (DE), 12.07.2013
Chords:

B 11 – b 11 - A add 9 - E add4
Verse: Esus4#(5/A) / Bm#(5/G) / D/F#
We are bringing down the government
more power to the people (yeah…) put your hands in the air
We are the people , we are the oppressed (yeah…)
Let's bring down the gates
Lyrics:
Through the darkened suburbs of my mind
I wandered slowly, took my time
Chorus: Esus4#(5/A) / Fsus4#(5/B) / G6/B
Start a fire
start a riot
Put the government back in its place.
Chorus:
Come to me in my sweetest dreams
Together we can stay wild and free
Verse: Esus4#(5/A) / Bm#(5/G) / D/F#
Through the sunlit days of our lives
The light that we create will survive
You got blood on your hands
and money in the bank (yeah…)
Talking real criminal activities
you should be hanged for these (yeah…)
let's bring down the gates
Chorus
Through the golden sunset of our time
We can stay together or say goodbye
Chorus
Chorus

Once Upon Forever
Dorota PASALSKA-Najdek (PL), Stanis&awa OPYD (PL), Peter ANDREJ (SI)
11.07.2013, Regensburg, Germany
Background:
We had a mix of »ruf material«: Dorotas ocean drum and Stanis&awas small shamanic
drum, Peters guitar and instruction from Jonas who gave us three strange phrases.
1st: How to cook a tenderloin?
2nd: Rubber band!
3rd: Beans and mash potatoes!
Now, what to do with such a mess?
But we had a strong wish for vocal and all kinds of improvisation.
Dorota plays ocean drum, Stanis&awa plays small shamanic drum, Peter plays guitar and
sings english and slovenian words.

Lyrics:
Once upon a time there was nothing, except earth and sea.
Just a sound of watewr and wind!
There was no words, no meanings …
Time was growing, but the word stil didn’t apear,
But there was voices …
Then suddenly, first words appear:
»How to cook a tenderloin?»
»Kako skuhati file?»
»Jak gotowa' filet?»
Then another words appear:
»Rubber band«
»Band iz gume!«
»Recepturka!»
Then another words appear:
»Beans and mash potatoes!»
»Fi(ol in pire krompir!»
»Fasola i puree!»
Everybody try to uderstand words, but we know one thing:
On the End still is going to be:
No words, no meanings, just sounds of sea and maybe sound of you and me!

Svend SEEGERT (DK), Lucjan WESOLOWSKI (PL)
12.07.2013, Schloß Alteglofheim, Germany
Background:
The topic is mostly on a theme started out by Lucjan. In the end the text is a sort of
compromise between Svend’s focus on stuff that sounds good, and Lucjans wish to write
something that MEANS something, a wish that includes hopes for a better world, a better
understanding of what lies ahead of us, and what could be the way to go. That again conpuncturated by Svend’s afraidness of being too clear, to manifested ...
So - writing the song included a lot of flow-like elements and moments, and a lyrics-writing
process that also included a very interesting mixture of meaning and form.
