Situation
JL Furnishings, a leading hospitality furnishings
manufacturer, had been experiencing exceptional growth
due to their commitment to building in the USA, zero
defects and responsible manufacturing. This called for
increased ability to support clients at all times while
increasing production volume.
JL Furnishings manufactures hospitality furnishings for
high-end hotel and resort clients and orders have
increased from dozens to hundreds a week.
JLF’s goal was to increase production ability, allow the staff to properly service clients at
the existing high level of support and maintain their incredible zero defect policy.
The current IT infrastructure was now effectively years beyond planned usage.

Solution
JLF had been providing clients with high quality product resulting in a reputation in the
industry that was not only of excellent work, but on time, on budget delivery, and the
capacity for scalable orders.
The IT infrastructure KME Systems was supporting was functioning well, but updates
and more capacity were needed as even the most ambitious projections were
materializing.
After consulting with JLF leadership and working together on business process, budgets
and staff needs, KME Systems provided a phased roadmap consisting of the following:
Scale the onsite server farm
Protect the firm with a hybrid Cloud based business continuity solution for all IT and
communication systems
Improve remote access
Migrate email to Office365
The promise to perform all work with no downtime during their extended operating
hours
While some technology was replaced, others such as the IP-PBX were modified to suit
the new business needs, further increasing the ROI and value.
Results
JL Furnishings has continued to grow through great products and service. The ability to
continually add heavy loads to their overall process and the re-use of many existing
technologies for better use has provided great support to the expanding business.
