Beale Officers’ Spouses Club: Applicant must be a dependent family member of an active duty or reserve military member assigned to Beale Air Force Base, or a retired US military member residing in Yuba or Sutter County, or deceased US military member. Deadline: March 9, 2015. 2. Caners Foundation: This scholarship is for the benefit of students who are interested in pursuing an education and career in horticulture, agribusiness, viticulture or pomology. www.cangc.org/scholarship.html Deadline: March 15, 2015 3. Italian Catholic Federation Scholarship: Award amount $400. Open to Roman Catholic graduating seniors of Italian descent who have at least a 3.20 GPA. Applicant must be Roman Catholic but need not be of Italian ancestry to qualify if either Roman Catholic parent or grandparent is a member of the “Italian Catholic Federation.” Deadline: March 15, 2015 4. California Wine Grape Growers Foundation (CWGGF): Awards two $8,000 scholarships for students planning to attend a UC or CSU or four $2,000 scholarships for students planning to attend a California community college. Eligible students must be children of vineyard employees working in the 2014 or 2015 wine grape growing season. Children of wine grape growers may request a waiver from eligibility requirement based upon financial need. Applications available at www.cwggf.org. Deadline: March 15, 2015 5. Mary Aaron Memorial Trust: Open to ANY deserving student who is in need of financial assistance in order to complete their college education regardless of grades or participation in school activities. Deadline: March 16, 2015. 6. Frank C. Reilly Scholarship: This scholarship is available to seniors who have community, school and or work experience. Involves writing an essay on how the California Gold Rush shaped the State of California in 1840-1890. Deadline: March 27, 2015 by 3:00 pm 7. Marysville High School Local Scholarship: this application is used for a number of different local scholarships. These scholarships are merit based as well as need based, so all students are encouraged to apply. Deadline: March 27, 2015 8. Gail Buttacavoli-Price Memorial Scholarship: Award amount $500. Scholarship established in memory of Mrs. Gail Buttacavoli-Price a teacher at McKenney Intermediate School. Applicant must have graduated from McKenney Intermediate. Deadline: March 27, 2015 9. Gregory D. Wright Memorial Scholarship: Award amount $200. Scholarship established by the Wright family in loving memory of their son and brother Gregory D. Wright. Deadline: March 27, 2015 10.MHS AG Booster Scholarship: $250 Scholarship. Must have a 3.0 GPA or above and active participant of FFA for at least 2 years. Deadline: March 27, 2015 11.Barton Preston Scholarship for Mathematics: Award amount $500. Open to senior that has attended Marysville High School for at least three years, has completed PreCalculus, and must be planning to attend college immediately after graduation. Applicant must also fill out the Marysville High School Local Scholarship application. Deadline: March 27, 2015 12.CAA/ESA Youth Scholarship Program: Open to any high school senior whose parent or legal guardian is a member of law enforcement or a full-time paid or volunteer member of a fire department located in California. Awards are based on a combination of academic achievement, national test scores, extracurricular activities, and an essay. Application available online at www.ESAweb.org Deadline: March 27, 2015. 13.Alliance for Hispanic Advancement: $500 cash award for one academic year. Recipient must be enrolled and must take a minimum of 6 units or equivalent at an accredited school by fall 2015. Recipient will receive scholarship funds for the second semester only if a minimum 2.5 GPA is attained first semester. Deadline: March 31, 2015. 14.Calcot-Seitz Foundation: The Calcot-Seitz Scholarship has been established for promising young students from Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas who plan to attend a college or are attending a college offering at least a FOUR-YEAR DEGREE in Agriculture. Applicant must be from a cotton-producing area of California, Arizona, New Mexico, or Texas; must be enrolled as a full-time student in a four-year college and have a major in the field of Agriculture. Multiple winners. Open to 9th thru 12th grade high school students. Financial need is NOT considered. Essay topic and application can be found at www.americancollegefoundation.org DEADLINE: April 1, 2015. 16.John J. & Freda C. Monnot Scholarship Fund: Award amounts range from $100 to $5,000. Open to high school senior with a minimum 3.00 GPA planning to attend an accredited college, university, or trade school. Awards are not based solely on financial need. Deadline: April 1, 2015. 17.The North and North Central District (NCD) of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS): Two $400.00 scholarships will be awarded to two qualified applicants. Students pursuing career studies in any related Family and Consumer Science field. (Consumer Science, Early Child Development (not primary school education), Food Science and Hospitality, Fashion Design, Interior Design and Furnishings) Deadline: April 1, 2015. 18.Fremont-Rideout Foundation Scholarship: The Fremont-Rideout Foundation is dedicated to the support of the Fremont-Rideout Health Group, including Fremont and Rideout Hospitals, The Fountains, The Courtyard, the Fremont-Rideout Cancer Center, and affiliated projects and programs. The Foundation will award six (6) $1,000 scholarships, available to any high school senior or continuing education student with a 3.0 GPA who has been accepted to study a health career curriculum at an accredited college, university, or technical school. Deadline: April 3, 2015. 19.Region 14 of the American Iris Society: Award amount $500. Applicant must be planning on pursuing a career in the horticulture, floriculture, or a closely related field. Criddle Jr. Scholarship: This scholarship is only available to a graduating Marysville High School student-$500. For this scholarship competition you will need to submit the application and 1500 word essay on how your hometown has shaped you into the person you are today and where you see yourself in the future and how you will get there? Deadline: April 10,2015. 21.Arnoldo Avalos Foundation “Aspire” Scholarship: Has been established to assist and encourage students in the advancement of higher education at the University of California. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates high academic achievement, dedication to community service and shows financial need. Turn in application to Joy Sweringen. Deadline: April 24, 2015. 25.The Robert (Bobby) Lee Memorial Scholarship Memorial Scholarship for Baseball and Softball: This $500 scholarship will recognize personal excellence, commitment to community, academic achievement, school spirit, and a commitment to lifelong learning. In order to qualify for this scholarship the applicant must have participated in Baseball/Softball some time during their education at MHS. Deadline: April 24, 2015. 26.Thomas A Iverson, D.D.S., M.S. Scholarship: Award amount $1,000. Applicants for scholarship must have a minimum 3.50 GPA, copy of transcript, name of college planning to attend, be a pervious or current patient of Dr. Iverson, and submit a 2 minute video about “Happiness is a choice. What makes you smile?” Submit video on a CD or Flash drive to our office by due date with required paperwork. All videos must be formatted to share. Each applicant must answer the question: What does your community need to know to support a statewide Death with Dignity law? This is a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited postsecondary school or college.
