Free ourth Saturday Birdwalk - Join NRCP and the Arkansas Valley Audubon Society for a fantastic outing for families and beginning bird watchers. Saturday - 9:00am May 23rd Meet on the NRCP Deck. Free K nee High Nature Hour - Explore nature with your toddler through stories, music, crafts and games. Thursday, May 14th and Wednesday, May 27th at 10:00 a.m. Free - Sponsored by G.O.A.L. Academy W ednesday Garden Club - Let’s all pitch in to keep our gardens beautiful. We’ll enjoy some coffee, garden work, and socializing. Every Wednesday. Meet at the yurt at 8:00am. May Programs May 2 - Awakening Bears - 10am - NRCP Yurt Come learn about black bears and how to be Bear Aware! Colorado is home to a large number of black bears and they are up and active now. Sue Hardesty will speak about her experiences with black bears and will teach you how to be Bear Aware when you are camping and hiking. This program is good for all ages so join us and let us help you prepare for the summer outdoor season. $2 non-members; free for members. More May Programs on back Solar Art Saturday, May 16th - 10am - NRCP Yurt Let’s use nature and solar paper to make fun sun prints. These make beautiful art pieces that you will enjoy for years. Build-a-Beaver Saturday, May 23rd - 1pm - NRCP Yurt Bring the kids and learn about those industrious engineers of the animal world - beavers. Bird Walk - May 23rd - 9am - meet on NRCP deck. Skins, Skulls, Scat, & Tracks Saturday, May 30th, 1 - 3pm Calling all outdoors-people! Stop by the yurt and test your skills at matching animal skulls, pelts, scat, & tracks. Learn about the special adaptations of the animals and have fun checking your knowledge!
