FOUNDATION GOLF TOURNAMENT
On Friday, May 29th, join us at the 10th Annual Nikkei Place
Foundation Golf Tournament and help us “Beat the odds”
of dementia.
Nikkei Place Foundation is asking our supporters and corporate partners to
come out with their friends and colleagues to have a little fun and play a little
golf to help us “Beat the odds” of dementia.
By the time we are 90 years old, 50% of us will have dementia. Add that to
the risk of heart disease, diabetes and accidental falls and it really brings
attention to our seniors eating well, exercising, staying social and continuing
to learn…if we are to “beat the odds”.
Be a part in helping us reach our goal to raise $30,000 to support the
following programs and activities at Nikkei Place:

For seniors who are experiencing signs of dementia, staff and trained volunteers
help to enable them to join regular seniors’ programming. It is proving to have
a great benefit not only for the seniors, but also instructors and staff as well,
creating a more enriched and caring community at Nikkei Place.

SENIORS HEALTHY CLINIC & COLLEGE
A mobile clinic that encourages and helps seniors promote their health in a
proactive way. Dr. Asae Tanaka, fluent in both English and Japanese, sees seniors
for 1-on-1 or group sessions.
VITALITY FAIR
The Vitality Fair brings seniors all the services and products we have available
here, as well as products available in Japan. It will explore topics like : “What’s
available at your household store to help you?” and “Can a chef cook a healthy
lifestyle meal to fit any budget?”
HELPING HANDS WEBSITE
A website portal designed in English and Japanese. It will allow seniors to find the
help they need to live a great life from a trusted source.
KUI DO RAKU PROGRAM — “EAT WELL, MOVE WELL & ENJOY WELL”
A social program specifically designed for seniors who prefer to use the Japanese
language. It provides seniors the opportunity to discover ways to manage life
better and live more actively.
