With the Summer coming up quickly, we are pleased to have Patrick Saucier, Recreation Coordinator with Basin
Recreation come speak to our group. Basin Recreation has recently made a commitment to offer new and more
activities for active adults. They have held community meetings to gather ideas and Patrick is formulating group
activities starting this Summer. Please join us! This will be a chance to hear about these new activities and to add
them to your calendar for Summer.
Please join us for lunch at the Windy Ridge Cafe located at 1250 Iron Horse Dr after the Coffee. Windy Ridge
Cafe is one of Park City’s best-kept secrets so if you haven’t been there you are in for a treat! It is what great
trendy comfort food is all about and is the place for quality fare. Windy Ridge offers a wide variety of delicious,
yet reasonably priced menu selections from soup, sandwiches, salads and delicious entrees to some of the best
desserts in Park City. The past two months over 30 people have joined us for lunch and we hope to continue that
trend in May.
Lunch and Leisure
Special Spring Concert with the Utah Symphony Orchestra
Spring is finally here and what better way to enjoy a lovely Spring morning than with beautiful music!
Lunch and Leisure will be more “Brunch and Leisure” this month as we go to the magnificent
Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake City and enjoy the Utah Symphony Guild’s Spring Fling! The event
begins with Continental breakfast served in a beautifully decorated room within the Abravanel
Hall complex. Afterwards we continue to the main auditorium for a full orchestra symphony program.
The concert will last approximately 1 hour and 45 min. If interested, Lorraine will arrange for a place
for everyone to go for lunch after the performance. There are lots of nice restaurants in close proximity to the
concert Hall; separate checks at the restaurant.

THE PARK CITY PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS’ ASSOCIATION (PCPAA)
The Park City Professional Artists’ Association (PCPAA) is an alliance for the promotion of local art within the
Park City community. Our group is a social networking club that was started by 6 local artists in 1981. The
members of the PCPAA create beautiful art and enjoy each other’s company. We sponsor social gatherings,
fund raising events to support art scholarships, volunteer efforts for local non-profit groups and professional
development seminars. Members collaborate on exhibition opportunities and art shows. Supporting our
local community is an essential component for our membership. Our support and volunteer commitment
throughout the Park City community is especially strong during the annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival hosted by the famed Kimball Art
Center. The festival attracts up to 50,000 art lovers during first weekend in August. The PCPAA organization is one of relaxed giving and
volunteerism. PCPAA provides a kind and nurturing environment supportive of both professional and novice artists. Members are especially
inviting and encouraging towards emerging artists who join looking for information and mentors. We meet monthly at the Kimball Art
Center at 6pm on the second Thursday of the month.
WE WANT YOU!
The Park City Medical Center has an immediate need for Volunteers. We’re looking for people 14 years old
and over who want to work in a welcoming environment, want to stay busy with a variety of tasks, and want to
have fun on the job. If you’d like to put your talents and skills to good use and help out a valuable community
resource, please contact the Volunteer Manager at [email protected].

Please arrive at the Park City Golf Course one half hour before your tee time.
If you have to cancel, please call me and let me know. Call: 480-772-2588.
RULES: In Straight Golf you do not have to keep score. I know some golfers will like this. I do not keep score and I
have some silly rules that I follow.
RULE #1. If I need 2 or 3 mulligans I use them.
RULE #2. If I get behind a tree I move the ball off to one side.
RULE #3. If my ball gets in the rough in longer grass I pick up the ball and throw it onto the fairway.
RULE #4. If I get in a deep sand trap and after two tries I did not get out I pick up the ball and toss it out.
RULE #5. If I swing and miss the ball, that was just a practice swing.
In other words, just have fun!

Gardening
Welcome to Spring! Even though it’s very warm, remember the official last frost date is late June. Go ahead and
plant, but be prepared to cover tender annuals if we have a cold snap.
Due to the extremely dry winter and low snowpack, the theme of this season’s
meetings will be water conservation. Our guest speaker will be Insa Riepen, the
Executive Director of Recycle Utah. She will talk about ways to conserve water in
our gardens and yards, make suggestions for water wise native plants, and give
a demonstration on composting. Please park on Woodbine Way or in the PCMR
employee lot on Munchkin Road. Do NOT park in one of the spaces at the Recycle
Center! Bring a sandwich for your lunch, beverages will be provided. Contact Pat Pond
at [email protected] to join the mailing list for the Garden Club.
