Red Cross Lessons
The Scott City Municipal Pool is offering Red Cross swimming lessons for all youngsters who wish to increase their swimming skills
and safety information. Classes offered are: Level I through Level VII
Enroll in any of the following sessions:
June 22 – June 26
July 13 – July 17
10:00-10:45 a.m. or 11:00-11:45 a.m.
The fee is $30 per week/per child.
Pool Rules
1. No smoking, running, dunking, or pushing allowed.
2. No glass containers in pool areas or dressing rooms.
3. No swimming under diving boards.
4. One person at a time on diving boards.
5. No one will be allowed past the life line into the deep end unless they can swim the width of the pool and tread
water for one minute.
6. Roped off shallow end is for non-swimmers only.
7. No unnecessary conversations with the lifeguards on duty.
8. Food & drinks are allowed ONLY in the concessions area.
9. No street clothes allowed.
10. Persons under 8 must be supervised by an adult.
11. All swimmers MUST TAKE SHOWERS BEFORE ENTERING POOL.
12. Children’s inflatable rings or arm bands are NOT life preservers, please use with caution. Adult supervision
required.
13. Any person intentionally breaking rules will be asked to leave for the remainder of the day. Continuous breaking
of rules will result in suspension from the pool.
Special Rules/ Regulations
1. Pool will close at the first sign of lightning or if temperature is below 70 degrees.
2. Ten minute mandatory rest periods will be called every hour.
3. Baby pool is for children 5 years & under. Children must be supervised by an adult.
4. There must be a minimum of 10 swimmers for the pool to remain open.
5. Whenever additional rules are deemed advisable for the proper protection of health and safety, the management is authorized to
issue and place into effect rules either printed or verbal.
6. Anyone caught defecating in the pool or interfering with public swimming pool operation will face a Class B violation.
