SAMPLING & ITS REMEDY

Provisions in Insecticide Act 1968 & Rules 1971

Under Insecticide Act 1968 Sec. 21 (1) (e),22 (6) & Insecticides
Rules 1971 Rule 24 (2) an Insecticide Inspector shall have power to
take Samples of any Insecticide as specified in the BIS and send
such samples to the Insecticide Analyst for Test in the prescribed
manner.

U/r 33. Form of intimation of purpose of taking Samples –Where an
II takes a samples of an Insecticide for the purpose of Test Or
Analysis he shall intimate such purpose in writing in Form XII & XX .
(Intimation to Person/Licensee from whom Sample is taken)

U/rule 34. Samples for test or analysis ….in a sealed packet together
with a memorandum in form XXI (Memorandum to Govt. Analyst) &
a copy of the Memorandum in form XII together with a specimen
impression of the seals of the II.

U/rule 24 (3) Insecticide Analyst shall forthwith supply to the
Insecticides Inspector a report in Triplicate in Form IX or XVII of the
result of test or analysis (Report of Insecticide Analyst)
Insecticide Act 1968 & Rule 1971

U/s 4 of the Act CIB & section 5 Registration Committee is described.

U/s 12 of the Act Licensing Officers & Section 13 Grant of the License &
Rule 9 Licenses to Manufacture of insecticide & Rule 10 License for
sale, etc. of Insecticides are described & u/s 15 Appeal against the
decision of a licensing officer .

U/s 20 of the Act Insecticide Inspector are Appointed & u/s 21 Powers
of Insecticide Inspectors shall have different power s & u/s 22
Procedure to be followed by Insecticide inspector is described.

U/s 24 Report of Insecticide Analyst is described which shall within a
period of 30 days make the Test or Analysis and report in writing signed
by or under the Authority.
GENERAL ERROR DURING COLLECTION
OF SAMPLES
1
In place of Technical name of the collected Insecticides trade name is
only filled up which is not proper. Both name is essential.
2
Some times leakage packed of the Samples is collected , which is
improper. So sealed packed of the Insecticide should be taken.

Proper Metallic Impression is not given on the collection form & also in
the FORM No XXI, so in both form, it is necessary.

Some times Signature of Insecticide Inspector is also left in the Form ,
so please don’t miss it.
5
Active Ingredient, Batch No, Manufacturing Date, Expiry Date, & Name
of the Manufacturing Company should be given in the Sample
Collection Form so don’t miss it.
