to gather information from guests, attendees and
church members who are interested in knowing
more about the ministry here at Cedar Crest.
125th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Mark your calendars for Saturday,
November 15, 4 to 8 pm as we take a look
back at the last 125 years of our church
history through a presentation and
celebration event. Tickets are available for
the Celebration/Party at the table in the
Foyer at no cost, but are limited and
required to attend the event.

Our Worship Services:
Heritage Service (8:30 a.m.) – blends hymns and praise songs. This service is led by a worship leader
and choir, and accompanied by organ, piano and occasional orchestra.
Celebration Service (11:00 a.m.) – features current worship songs and contemporary hymns. This
service is led by a worship team and accompanied by a worship band.

Parents: There are Kid’s Worship programs during the 11:00 Worship Service for Preschool through
5th graders! Sign-in for these programs is at the Kid’s Welcome Kiosk outside of room 108 in the
educational wing. Nursery is available for children up to age 3 during all services in rooms #105 - 107.
A special room for Nursing Mothers is located across from the restrooms of the Worship Center. If
you have a restless child, please take your child to the foyer or hallway where you will still be able to
hear the service. We also provide a quality nursery and would be happy to care for your child while you
worship.

SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS
For those who are grieving the loss of a
loved one, the holidays are often not the
most wonderful time of the year.
GriefShare’s Surviving the Holidays offers
hope, help and practical guidelines about
how to make it through the upcoming
season. Surviving the Holidays will meet
on Monday, November 17, at 7:00 p.m. in
rooms 42/44. You can sign up at the
literature table or by calling Joe Zatko. We
know it hurts and we want to help.

This is a Halloween alternative for children
ages 4 through 5th grade. Dress up, get
candy, and see Bible stories of Jonah,
Zacheaus, David and Goliath, Queen
Esther, and the Prodigal Son come to life!
A sign-up table is located near the Activity
Center or you can sign up on the church’s
website.
Volunteers for Heavenly House
(6th grade and up) are needed.
If you have questions, stop by the table at
the end of the Missions Hallway or contact

BELIEVERS’S BAPTISM
...is scheduled for Sunday, November 23 in
both services. If you are a believer in Christ
and have not been baptized by immersion,
you are invited to attend the following class
in preparation for this special day:

11:15 am in the Conference Room.

2014 GO CONFERENCE EVENTS
October 12-19 “Enlarge our Vision”
WELCOME TO DR. WARD
We are privileged to have Dr. Herb Ward as
our conference speaker today. Dr. Ward
serves as Professor of Biblical Studies at
Covenant College in Lookout Mt., Georgia
where he has taught Old Testament and
Missions for the past nine years. He practiced
law in Michigan for seven years before being
called to the ministry.
After attending
Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, he and his
wife, Kathy, served in Dar es Salaam,
Tanzania with their denominational mission
agency. They served three years in East
Africa and four years in South Africa before
returning to the States in 2001. He then
served on the pastoral staff of their sending
church for five years before coming to teach at
Covenant. The Wards have two grown
children, Laura and David.

from Short-term Teams (France, Spain, Light
in the Park) from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. There will
be a children’s program (grades 1-5) in Rooms
101-102.
BABY DEDICATION
The next baby dedication will be on Sunday,
December 14 during the morning worship
services. Please stop by the Welcome Center
for an application. Upon completion, place it
in the secretary’s mailbox, #621.
FOOD BANK ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
There will be a food bank organizational
meeting on Sunday, October 26, during the
Sunday School hour in Overflow B. If you are
currently serving as a food bank volunteer or

HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF THE BFC
The Historical Society of the BFC will hold
its 31st Annual Meeting on October 25 here
at Cedar Crest. The meeting will include a
presentation by Ron Hoyle on the 125th year
history of Cedar Crest at 10:45 a.m. in the
Narthex. There will also be a visit to Bethel
Church in Allentown. Additional details and
registration forms are available on the
literature table in the Narthex.
