VAUGHN MENSAJE IMPORTANTE DE FR. VAUGHN We want to let the community be aware there are many people posing as priests who are not real Catholic priests, doing weddings, baptisms, and Masses in homes. They are ex-priests who left the ministry or they belong to breakoff groups that are not really Roman Catholic. There is a Father Ritchie who lives in Lancaster who is former priest from the Philippines and other Hispanic false priests who are defrauding people and causing confusion. Father Ritchie does not have permission to function here and has ignored requests from the Archdiocese to stop doing sacraments. They charge exorbitant amounts of money and their sacraments are not valid. They prey on ignorant and inactive Catholics. These are some of the wolves in sheep's clothing Jesus warns us about, robbing and misleading the flock. If you hear of a baptism, wedding, or Mass taking place in a home it is very likely a case of a false priest. If you have any questions or want to report the activity of a false priest in the parish please call Fr. Vaughn. It is a free country and people are free to do as they wish but it is sad when these frauds pose as real Catholic priests and fool people into giving them large amounts of money. St. Mary Catholic Church November 9, 2014 THE TEMPLE AND WORSHIP EL TEMPLO Y LA ADORACIÓN In all of today’s readings, the temple is prominently men oned. Ezekiel speaks of streams of living water flowing out from the temple, watering the desert, bringing life to all living things, offering fresh healing to God’s people. Paul reminds the Corinthians that their faith rests upon the firmest of founda ons, Christ himself. More than that, Paul reveals that those who follow Christ are themselves temples, temples of the Holy Spirit; that is, God dwells not only with them, but in them. For the Jews of Jesus’ me, the temple had come to be iden fied with the presence of God and the only place where authen c worship of God took place. Jesus had a different percep on. Jesus iden fied himself not with the temple, but as the temple. In so doing, Jesus indicated a drama c shi in what it means to worship God, to be in God’s presence. No longer was a place to be the focus of prayer. Instead, a person, the person of Jesus Christ, becomes the center of our worship. —Fray Gilberto Cavazos-Glz, OFM, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co. It is the Catholic Church’s way of extending an invitation to those who wish to know more about the Catholic Church. The Rite is a spiritual journey that takes place within a community of believers. Therefore, this rite is referred to as a process rather than a class or program. Who's RCIA for? Those who feel it is time to begin a journey towards baptism. Those baptized Christians who wish to explore entering into full communion in the Catholic Church faith. Those baptized Catholics who wish to complete their Sacraments of initiation, Confirmation and Eucharist. How do I Begin? The first step is to simply attend and inquiry session. You do not need to call or register These sessions are designed to answer your general questions At your initial session, you will arrange to meet with the director of initiation At this meeting the individual or family inquiring will be warmly received, personal questions will be answered, and particular needs will be assessed. Each person’s journey is different, therefore, the path and “time-line” for preparing for initiation varies with the individual needs of each person. When are Inquiry Sessions? Inquiry Sessions beginning now on Sundays from 8:30 AM –10:15 AM in the Holy Family room. There is no need to call or register. You are welcome any time! For Questions call Steve Toll cell number 661-406-3935 call or text or email Mary Rose Toll at 661-406-3458 maryrose [email protected] or Debbie Castillo 661-538-1985. Though safety inside school is ultimately the responsibility of the principal and school staff, parents can take a few basic steps to ensure a safe school experience.” Get involved. Talk with the principal about what you can do to increase school safety, such as organizing parents to form a neighborhood watch before and after school. Sometimes parent groups are highly successful in making improvements in traffic safety during drop off and pick up times. For more information, please visit http://www.scholastic.com/parents/resources/article/parent-teacher-partnerships/6-rulesschool-safety ¿SABIA USTED?
