"The process of creating: the foolish
attempts; the constant failures; the agony
of defeat; the harsh criticism; and the
vulnerability, are all what makes art truly
alive and real. "

ENTRE
ARTS C
As we approach the end of 2014, and look towards Singapore’s
big Jubilee year, we at Goodman and Aliwal Arts Centre have
begun taking stock of the last year.
This edition of the brochure will be our final in print, as we
work towards being more environmentally friendly, we will
be focusing our efforts online instead. Moving forward, we
hope you will continue to stay updated by signing up for our
mailing list on our website, liking us on Facebook or following
us on Instagram.
Coming off the high from the two festivals that happened at
Aliwal in the past two months – Lit Up by Word Forward and The
International A Cappella Festival by The A Cappella Society,
we’re all geared up for a fantastic lineup that will close 2014
with a bang!
Celebrate the 15th anniversary of Odyssey Dance Theatre
as they look back on their journey in Moments – a special
multidisciplinary exhibition. We also have two Tamil plays that
are sure to get you on the edge of your seat. If you’d like to
quickly check off learning a new skill from the 2014 Resolutions
List, we’ve got vocal workshops from traditional Chinese opera,
to contemporary a cappella. Or else uncover your hidden
Beethoven with some piano lessons!
In the meantime, mark your calendars for Saturday 18 January
2015 - the date of the second Aliwal Urban Art Festival! This
edition is just bigger and better – with more funky bands, live
graffiti demonstrations and slick DJs shining a bright light on
street culture and its genres.
Warmest regards,
Place Management Team
