One of the purposes of the proposed 2015 Policy is to make dog owners and the
community in general more aware of the responsibilities that come with dog
ownership. To assist in achieving that purpose the Policy duplicates what is
contained in the Act. While that may be considered unnecessary duplication it is
Council’s intention to provide to the general community a central document that
containsmostoftheprovisionsthatarerelevanttodogownership.
