PASTOR’S COLUMN
Our hope is that parents of elementary age students will visit
the Open House in the school today as we kick-off Catholic
Schools Week. 2015 is a banner year for our school as we
count thirty years of Catholic education at Queen of All
Saints School. The school opened in 1985 when Archbishop
John May formally blessed the school building and the doors
were open to proclaim the message of Christ. Many modifications have taken place during my ten-plus years as pastor and I
join Dr. Cathy Johns in boasting about our local Catholic
school. Recently the school was equipped with Wi-Fi capabilities to enhance our education program. A new boiler is presently being installed in Limbach Hall and plans are underway to
improve the HVAC system throughout the school building.
Our faculty is anxious to “show-off” their classrooms and entice visitors to enroll in our great program next fall. Little
Saints Academy has operated for only a few years and already
it is bursting at the seams with wee ones who will enter our
kindergarten and seed our school with new students. Imagine
your little one joining our ranks in the fall of 2015! Come on
over to the school and see how we promote traditional Catholic values in a progressive educational environment….. Next
Saturday morning, the Second Graders will make their First
Reconciliation. May the peace of Christ be with them!…. Finally, please make plans to attend the Trivia Night Hoedown
next Saturday evening, Jan. 31, and have a fun evening as you
support the Activities Association. This year the proceeds of
the Trivia Night will be dedicated to the Capital Improvement
Fund. Our thanks to the Activities Association Board and all
its members for their gesture of support!
Monsignor Joseph Simon
Scout Sunday is February 1!!
This February, the Boy Scouts of America will celebrate
their 105th Anniversary. In honor of this event Cub Scout
Pack 662 will be celebrating Scout Sunday on February 1
at the 12:00PM (Noon) mass. After all masses this weekend, Cub Scouts will be outside of the Church doors collecting donations to support our Pack. We give our sincere thanks to the entire Queen of Saints community for
your ongoing support of Scouting!
NOTICE
TO ALL PARISHIONERS
YEARLY CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS
You may pick up your yearly CONTRIBUTION
STATEMENT after all Masses on the weekends of
January 24-25, January 31-February 1 and February 7-8 downstairs in the church hall. The statements will be arranged in alphabetical order for your
convenience.

Don’t forget to stop by school today between
10AM until 1PM
We are eager to share information about Queen
of All Saint School with you. Registration material will be available.
UPDATE MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Does our Church database have YOUR family membership
record correct?
Here is your chance to update YOUR record for our
annual Guide Book & Directory (if you haven’t already
done so).
It is time for us to update our database with any changes,
additions, deletions that may have occurred in YOUR family over the past year.
Have you changed your phone number? Have you moved?
Are you preparing to move soon? Are all of your children
still at home and are they all included in your membership
record? Do you want to be included in the Parish Directory?
If you have not already informed the Parish Office about
changes to your record, please let us know now so that the
information in the Guide Book & Directory is correct.
If you do not want to be listed in the Parish Directory,
please notify the Parish Office, 846-8207, ext. 200.
GUIDE BOOK & DIRECTORY
**Advertising Opportunity**
We are in the process of updating our annual Guide Book &
Directory for the Parish. This book will be the Who, What,
Where, When, Why and How of our Congregation. The
book is being provided at no cost to our Parish, including
the mailing to each family, and again is being subsidized by
local businesses that advertise in it. If you own or manage a
business and would like to find out about advertising in our
book, please call the Parish Office, 846-8207, ext. 200.
Recent survey results by Guide Book Publishing show
that 92.1% of families would rather patronize a Guide
Book & Directory advertiser over a non-advertiser. It
“will pay” to advertise in our new Guide Book & Directory.

DONATE VIA FAITH DIRECT IN 2015
Mark 1:17
Jesus’ call to “Follow me” is a call to all Christians! Jesus
asks us to help Him build his church on earth by generously
sharing all our gifts of prayer, talent and treasure. Remember, Jesus calls us to generously develop and share all our
gifts, not just the ones we pick and choose.
Why not make a New Year’s Resolution: during 2015 donate
through Faith Direct. By supporting Queen of All Saints
through Faith Direct, both you and the parish can more easily
project your future contributions. You can sign up online at
www.faithdirect.net using our church code: MO86, or
by mailing a paper enrollment form available in the parish office.
Offertory Collection for the weekend of 1/18/2015:
Ordinary monthly operations continue during the Capital Improvement Appeal currently underway at Queen of All Saints.
We appreciate extra financial support from all our families as
the parish strives for more solid financial footing after the mold
crisis of last fall which significantly impacted our financial
reserves. Please consider adding Mold Remediation Appeal
to your monthly or weekly donation choices at Faith Direct,
the parish's electronic eGiving program. Thank you for your
prayerful and financial support of Queen of All Saints Parish.

EMERGENCY APPEAL FOR
REMEDIATION COVERAGE AND HVAC SYSTEMS
IN SCHOOL AND LIMBACH HALL
Queen of All Saints Parish is asking all parishioners and
friends of the parish for contributions to cover the cost of
remediating the school and church hall last summer, and to
cover the cost of repairs to or replacement of the HVAC
systems in the school and Limbach Hall. The Finance Council is asking each family to contribute an extra donation in
addition to their ordinary weekly or monthly offering for
these expenses. A special “Mold Remediation Appeal”
envelope is contained in the monthly envelope packet. Donations may also be made through Faith Direct (enroll at the
parish office or online at Faith Direct; the QAS parish code
is MO86). The parish expended $465,000 for remediation
repairs in the school and the church hall during the ordeal.
The repair of HVAC system in the school is currently under
discussion by members of the Capital Improvement Committee. Once a cost figure is determined, we will publish
that information. The parish Finance Council appreciates
your assistance in covering these extraordinary expenses
which obviously were not known at the time the current
budget was approved last spring.

to your faith, countless of new parents a wonderful example
of how to raise their children in the Catholic Faith. My
heartfelt thanks and God’s Blessings upon you all.

the Baptismal Prep Program. Those interested please

those families who have qualified for tuition assistance.
Are you someone looking for a way to assist a school

FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION
In his first encyclical, The Redeemer of Man,
St. John Paul II states that our essential commitment in life is to persevere and advance
constantly in Eucharistic life and piety, and to
grow spiritually in the climate of the Eucharist. The Pope called upon the whole People of God to
make the Eucharist the very center of each parish through
adoration.

Knight in almost every parish organization.
Want to find out more? Come to our free informational gathering in the parish library at 7:30 pm on

DYNAMIC CATHOLIC, ALIVE!
Dynamic Catholic, Alive! Christ as the Model of
Prayer
Christ is our model of prayer. In the Gospels, we
often find Christ at prayer, for instance, before
the decisive moments of His mission and that of
the Apostles. Even more, due to His constant
communion with the Father, his entire earthly life
was a prayer. Christ gave us not only the Our Father, but the qualities necessary for prayer: purity of heart, faith, watchfulness. Is your prayer life
modeled after Christ’s?

IT’S MAGIC…
If you had a magic formula that could give life and relieve suffering, would you share it with the world? You
have that magic formula flowing through your
veins...blood! Do you realize that each pint of blood
donated has the capacity to assist 3 people? Think
we’re kidding? Stop by and ask the experts. And, while
you’re there, roll up your sleeves and share a pint. You
never know who you might be saving. If you are at least
18 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and are in general good health, there is a good chance you can save up
to three lives! What are you doing after mass next Sunday?
You can SAVE LIVES at the Queen of All Saints

Fr. Robert Barron, one of the great spiritual teachers of our
time, presents these biblical stories of true conversion drawing
from the riches of scriptural accounts. They were people just
like you and me who were called by Christ - Bartimaeus, The
Man Born Blind, The Woman at the Well, and Jonah and the
Great Fish.
God opposes the proud but bestows favor on the humble. (1
Peter 5:5) In this revealing talk, Fr. Casey shares how wisdom
and blessings come through a healthy cultivation of the virtue
of humility, and he equips us to be vigilant in avoiding that
often subtle temptation and danger to the soul, which is pride.
He shows how humility allows us to see things, and ourselves,
as they truly are, and how pride makes us prone to serious mistakes, both in our spiritual and practical lives. At the end of this
presentation is a bonus segment from Confession by Fr. Larry

“Couponing for a Cause”
Do you know how to coupon or want to learn? We need you.
Please join us for a positive, upbeat gathering to teach others what we know about couponing. We will do this for our
families and for those in need.
Did you know you cannot purchase personal hygiene, cleaning or paper products with food stamps? That’s where
this group comes in. We will purchase those items for little or no money and donate them to St. Vincent DePaul to take
to families facing emergency situations. We will also learn how to save money ourselves and restock our own pantries.
We will meet in the school library at 7PM the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month through May.
THE PROGRAM TO SEND EXPIRED COUPONS TO THE TROOPS HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED.
Feel free to call or email us at: Holly Wille…314-846-7456 or [email protected]
Alicia Hayden…314-680-7768 or [email protected]
Christina Kennedy…314-660-7785 or [email protected]
PLEASE SAVE YOUR COUPONS AND PUT THEM IN THE SVDP BASKETS IN THE BACK OF CHURCH
