PRAYER BREAKFAST Habitat for Humanity Choptank is holding their
annual Talbot County Prayer Breakfast on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 8:30am. Our
church is hosting the breakfast this year. If you can attend, please RSVP to
Rose Madison at 410-476-3204 by Jan. 28.
SHOES WANTED!! A box labeled “Shoes for Water” may catch your eye
this morning outside the gathering area. What’s the connection between shoes
& water? An organization called WaterStep can turn our old or out-of-date
shoes into funding for water wells in developing countries where women &
children traditionally walk miles to carry home water for their family’s daily
use. St. Marks can assist this effort by donating our unwanted shoes so please
take a look in your closet this week & see what might be gathering dust. Let’s
help turn our old shoes into clean water!
YOUTH TRIP PARENT MEETING!to discuss the Mission Trip
Sunday, February 8th at 4:00 p.m. in Youth Room!!
IMPORTANT TIS INFORMATION The Talbot Co Interfaith Winter
Homeless Shelter program will not be housed at St. Mark's for our two week
overnight shelter commitment this year. Instead, we will be serving the needs of
the homeless at the currently leased central facility of "Easton's Promise"
(previously a B&B) at 107 Goldsborough St. in downtown Easton. St. Mark's
will be providing the volunteers for two shifts each day, & also a hot dinner for
10 people, from Feb. 22 thru March 7th, so WE STILL NEED EVERY ONE OF
YOU! Two volunteers are needed for the evening shift (7-11pm) & two for a
morning shift (7-10am), as well as at least two to provide the hot food for dinner
each night. We will not need overnight volunteers, nor laundry help this year.
Sign up for the volunteer slots will begin on Sunday, Feb. 8th in the gathering
space....first come, first served to get your preferred date, time, or main dish
dinner selection. You need to sign up & fill out the yearly registration form.
New volunteers for either shift (not for meals) will need to fill out the
background check form as well. There are a number of long time volunteers
who need the back ground check to be redone, so please fill out a new form if
your name is on that list. VOLUNTEER SIGN UP WILL BE HELD ON FEB 8,
& FEB. 15th. You need to sign up ASAP so the paper work can be sent in &
completed. PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE ONLY TWO SUNDAYS TO GET
SIGNED UP THIS YEAR!
If you want to sign up but will not be in church
either of those Sundays, or you have questions, please contact Barbara
Friedman. (410-763-7263). There will be a chance for registered volunteers to
tour the new facility & hear this year's orientation (at the house) on Saturday,
Feb. 21st. We have very positive feed-back from the current volunteers about
serving in the new facility, so "try it, you'll like it."
SUPPORT ST MARKS PRESCHOOL It’s that time of year again. St. Mark's
Preschool is selling tickets to their ALL You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast at
Applebee's. Tickets are now on sale $7.00 each with $4.50 of each sale
going right back to the preschool. The breakfast is scheduled to be
held February 7 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. Please support us even if you cannot
attend. The preschool benefits from each ticket sold, not the number redeemed!
Please contact Sarah Ewing for more info or to purchase tickets.

prayer, receiving the ashes & sharing in Holy Communion.
This is a wonderful opportunity to begin the Lenten season
with an attitude of repentance & thankfulness.
Join us for a unique study, “The Easter
Experience,” which brings the passion &
resurrection of Jesus to life through storytelling &
teaching. During this study we will feel …. meet ….
enter the last few hours of Jesus’ natural life as
well as the first hours of His resurrected life. Come
to the Upper Room, walk beside him in
Gethsemane, stand near him in Pilate’s courtyard,
weep alongside his followers at Golgotha, &
celebrate the empty tomb.
The classes will be held on Wednesday nights
beginning February 25th & ending on April 1st,
from 6:30-7:45 p.m. in the Chapel. Come &
experience Easter as you never have before!
