Dear Colleague,
The Tax Council Policy Institute (TCPI) invites you to participate in our 16th Annual Tax Policy and
Practice Symposium, “How Taxes Matter: The Globalization of Tax Policy and Implications for US
Economic Growth and Investment,” to be held February 12-13, 2015 at The Ritz-Carlton in Washington,
DC.
Join a focused, hands-on, educational assembly of more than 40 presenters representing tax leaders
from business, government, and academia for a unique two-day symposium as we learn about and
explore an issue facing you and your company today - the globalization of tax policy and its implications
for US economic growth and investment.
The 2015 Symposium will present and explore: the implications of global tax policy for U.S. economic
growth and business investment, the continuing need for business tax reform in the United States, the
OECD/G20 work seeking to reduce opportunities for double non-taxation, and an assessment of the
future for multinational businesses operating in a challenging environment of global business taxation.
TCPI is a highly respected non-profit and non-partisan public policy research and educational
organization that has been sponsoring exceptional tax programs and conferences for more than 15
years. Our symposia are renowned for facilitating the opportunity for leading tax professionals and
policy makers from government, academia, and the private sector to fully explore all aspects of current
tax topics. More than 5,600 tax professionals from around the world have attended our two-day
conferences and webcasts.
Be on the forefront of the discussion! Join us in dissecting this important tax topic which crosses all
industry lines and that impacts your country and your company today. Make plans to attend this
premier event and participate in sharing perspectives and understanding how the globalization of tax
policy impacts the economic growth of the United States and your company’s investment decisions.
On behalf of the TCPI and the Symposium Program Manager, PwC, we look forward to seeing you in
February.
Sincerely,
Lynda K. Walker, Esq.

Introducing…SpotMe Event Mobile App
TCPI Symposium Goes Digital
At the 2015 Symposium, TCPI is pleased to offer a new method of
delivering meeting materials to all attendees. With a generous assistance
from the 2015 TCPI Symposium Program Manager PwC, all meeting
documents of the Symposium will be accessed through a mobile event
application called SpotMe (further information can be found at
www.spotme.com).
We strongly encourage all attendees to bring their own tablet (iOS
or Android) to the Symposium to access the app. If you need to
borrow a tablet, please contact Debbie Siu at [email protected] after you
have registered for the Symposium.
SpotMe is a mobile app that will change the way you experience this
event. It’ll allow you to engage, collaborate and connect like never
before, turning you from an attendee to a true participant. The app is
going to enhance your learning, catalyze networking, and give you a
voice with which to ask your questions, raise you issues, and share your
very best ideas.
USER INTERFACE
The user interface is easy to use and designed specifically so you spend less time navigating and more time
participating. See something you want to access? Just give it a quick touch and the app will take you there.
But you’ll never be more than two clicks away from the entire set of tools. Want to get back to the main menu?
Just touch the HOME button in the corner and it will take you there.
AGENDA
To access the agenda, simply click on Agenda in the tools menu. Once the agenda shows, you can change
days by clicking the arrows on either side of the date or drill down by clicking any agenda item to get more
details like session descriptions, speaker bios, links to surveys and a tool to take notes.
VOTING and Q&A
With these tools you’ll be able to engage with the speakers on a whole different level. To ask a question or
take a poll introduced by the speaker, click on “Voting & Q&A.” To vote, just choose your answer choice. To
ask a question, simply enter that question or comment into the text box and click “send.” These will be
gathered and sent up to the speaker.
NETWORKING TOOLS & MESSAGING
Use the people list to see all of the other participants at the event. When you connect with someone, make
sure you take that contact home with you by exchanging electronic business cards with the QR code scanner.
Simply scan organizers or send another participant a message at any time. Messages are kept only within the
app and are completely private.
NOTES
If you want to take a note, simply click on New Note or the pencil icon inside the agenda item. The notes you
take attach to each agenda item. These will be saved for you and available after the event.
THE BRIEFCASE
The Briefcase is where SpotMe stores all of the information that you gather. Notes, business cards exchanged,
collateral and presentations; all of this will be accessible for download after the event via a private, secure
website. We’ll send you the link right after the event.
