Lots of Exciting Opportunities in March!
Wahoo! Welcome to March! We’re looking forward to
spending the day with 100’s of 4-H’ers and 4-H friends at Ski
Day, held at four locations across the province on March 7!
Congratulations to all of those advancing on to Regional
4-H Public Speaking, and good luck to you. All 4-H’ers are
welcome to attend Regional 4-H Public Speaking and cheer
on their clubmates and friends!
We’re eagerly awaiting the Annual General Meeting, to be
held on March 21-22 in Saskatoon. If you’re interested in
learning more about 4-H or helping to set our organization’s
strategic direction, consider running for the Board of
Directors. Nominations are open now and positions will be
elected at AGM.
March is the final month of the Build a Farm for 4-H
Foundation fundraiser to support the Saskatchewan 4-H
Foundation. Check out our virtual farm showcasing all of our
supporters on the 4-H Saskatchewan website!
Don’t forget to get your scholarship applications in! The
deadline for applications is April 1!
Spring and Summer event dates are continuing to come in.
There are lots of Competitive Judging and Livestock Show
opportunities to look forward to! Make sure to get your
registrations in!
As always - make sure to check out the Events & Opportunities
page on the 4-H website for more information!
Annual General Meeting
The 4-H Saskatchewan Annual General Meeting will be held March 21 - 22 at the Ramada Hotel in Saskatoon. We are
pleased to be welcoming more than 130 individuals!
At your Spring District Council meeting, you should help your AGM Delegates prepare their District Report by providing
information about your club and its activities, as well as any regional or provincial events you have hosted. On the
table for discussion are four resolutions - see the link below to read more about them. At your Spring District Council
meeting, 4-H’ers should discuss the resolutions submitted for discussion as a group and instruct your delegates how to
vote on your behalf.
Four Resolutions submitted for discussion at AGM
A resolution is a suggestion to change a 4-H policy that effects how the 4-H program in Saskatchewan operates. You should
discuss these resolutions with your club and district so that you can advise your delegates how you would like them to vote
at AGM. Remember, resolutions can be amended at AGM so it is important that your delegates know the intention of your
district, not just if you are ‘in favour’ or ‘against’, so that they can confidently speak and vote on your behalf.
The resolutions for discussion are posted on the 4-H website (under Updates), and available from the 4-H Office.
Follow this link: http://www.4-h.sk.ca/newsView?hid=277
Achievement Day Season is Just Around the Corner!
Achievement Day Order Packages will be sent to General Leaders in April - they will also be available on the website.
Make sure to get your orders in early - it can take a few weeks to get your materials sent back to your club!

This year, we are challenging our clubs to spread the 4-H Spirit far and wide. Put your
H’S IN ACTION
LAST CHANCE TO
GET INVOLVED!
Find a way to use your Head, Heart, Hands and Health for your club,
your community and country!
It’s that simple. Take your pledge from words into action. What you do is up to you!
Get involved as an individual, or as an entire club, by creating and doing your own H’s in Action Activity. Maybe
you’ll shovel sidewalks for seniors or collect food donations for an Easter Hamper for a family in need – it’s up to
your interpretation and creativity - the skies the limit.
Share your story with all of 4-H Saskatchewan by sending in a write-up and photos to your Regional 4-H Specialist.
You can submit as many activities as you would like! All H’s in Action activities received before March 15, 2015 will
be featured in the Bits & Pieces, and be eligible for the People’s Choice Award to be chosen at AGM in March.
Board of Directors
4-H Saskatchewan is a project-based youth organization dedicated to the growth and
development of our members, leaders, volunteers, and staff through our motto: “Learn
to do by doing”.
Provincial 4-H Office
The provincial office is made up of a dynamic staff team ready to serve our new and existing

About the Saskatchewan 4-H Council
The Saskatchewan 4-H Council administers the
4-H program in Saskatchewan. It is made up
of one member and one leader delegate from
each District Council. The entire Council meets
annually at the Saskatchewan 4-H Council
Annual General Meeting (AGM), held in March.
At AGM, a Board of Directors and Advisory
Council is elected to carry out the work of the
Council between annual general meetings.
The Council, through its Board of Directors,
Advisory Council and committees, determines
policies and programs at the provincial level.
The Saskatchewan 4-H Council employs and,
by way of the Executive Director, directs a 4-H
staff team.
The role of the Board of Directors is
to set direction and policy of the 4-H
program. They contribute to defining the
organization’s Mission, Vision and Core
Values and governing their fulfillment.
