Emergency repairs and, in some cases necessary replacements, use up a large amount of the budget leaving very little for the other things we feel we need to do. As some needs have arisen, parish members have graciously stepped up to cover the cost. But not everyone is able to commit to the significant expense of the needed projects, nor should they feel obligated to. However, we have noticed that many parishioners are willing to contribute to the many causes presented at St. James’ Parish. To this end, we have created a wish list of the projects that we need/want to do with the hope that parishioners will be interested in contributing something, no matter the amount, to some of the projects. We have included the cost estimate as they are known for some of the projects. The idea is that you could contribute any amount you feel would help to defray the cost of completing any project that is of interest to you. Please look over the wish list. If you see a project you would like to contribute to, please notify the Building and Grounds Chair. Thank you. — Calvin Horn, Junior Warden and Chairperson, Building & Grounds Committee Building and Grounds Wish List Note: All estimates, if noted, are approximate and * indicates the more urgent projects. Even if you regularly attend the 9 a.m. service, perhaps you would be willing to serve a month at 11 a.m. Altar Guild sets up the silver, wine, and wafers for the service. We fill the candles. You would not need to clean linens. Each month we have two people assigned to the 9 a.m. service and two to the 11 a.m. service. Unfortunately, we have months with no 11 a.m. help at all. Training is provided; you would not be on your own.
