PARKING AND DIRECTIONS
The easiest and fastest way to get to the Salt Lake City Marathon start line for the bike
tour, full marathon, and half marathon is to park downtown near Library Square and ride
the TRAX red line up to Medical Station (the end of the red line). CLICK HERE for a list
of the closest parking lots to the finish line at Library Square. These locations are great for
friends and families to come down and cheer on their favorite athlete!
TRAX
Everyone with a bib gets a FREE ride up to the start line on TRAX. This ride is only good
before the last race start time (7:25am) You are responsible for any ticket fees on TRAX
after 7:25am The blue line and red lines will start operating at 4:11am on race morning.
Trains will run every 10 minutes along the red line between Courthouse (450 S Main St)
and U. Medical Center (10 N. Medical Dr). The start line is approximately 800 feet from
the U. Medical Center TRAX station. Those needing a handicap-accessible route from
the train to the start line should exit at the Fort Douglas TRAX station, and head north to
the start line on S Wasatch Dr. For a full list of train departure times offered as part of our
special race morning TRAX schedule, CLICK HERE. A map of the UTA transit system
can be found HERE.
Parking at the University of Utah
If riding TRAX is not an option, there are parking lots on the the University of Utah
campus that are fairly near the start line and open on race morning. CLICK HERE for
a map of these parking lots near the bike/full/half start line. Note: Getting to the start
line may prove to be challenging on race day due to course-set up activities, street
closures, and from neighboring traffic from tailgaters for the University of Utah’s Red &
White game at the Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Drop Off at the Start Line
If you are not parking and just need a drop-off at the start line, you can have your friend
or family member come from the south and east up Foothill Dr, north to Mario Capecchi
and drop you off next to the Medical Station on Mario Capecchi Drive.
