The $6 per run video fee charge does not apply to classes run in the outdoor arena. “Schooling’’: Contestants are expected to run the designated NRHA pattern number assigned to each class however deviations from the designated pattern are allowed in the above mentioned GWRHA “schooling” classes. As a courtesy to the judges, contestants intending to school their horses in the GWRHA “schooling” classes should make their intention to school obvious to the judge at the beginning of their run. Schooling runs shall not exceed four minutes of arena time. Derby/Maturity Entries & Draws: Derby horses may be shown either one handed in a bridle or shown two handed in a snaffle bit or a hackamore (and riders may not change hands or switch from one to two hands). Maturity horses are to be shown one handed. All Derby/Maturity entries must enter up one level (e.g. Level 1 entries must also enter the Level 2 class, Level 2 entries must also enter the Level 4 class). The “Red Shirt” Futurity classes are run concurrently with the Open and Non Pro Derby classes and entries in this class are restricted to four year old horses who were never shown in a futurity as of January 1, 2015 (for additional information regarding the “Red Shirt” Futurity click here). A Draw Party will be held at 10:00AM on the day of the classes (Friday and Saturday) for the Derby classes. Additional entries will continue to be accepted until the start of the classes however, once drawn, late additions will be the first to show. Additional Class Information: We anticipate that classes will be drawn at approximately 6:00PM on the evening before each show day (except for the Derby classes). Note that NRHA regulations prohibit refunding of entry fees once drawn. The draw schedule for the main arena will take precedence over the draw schedule in the outdoor arena. Leadline Class: A special GWRHA “Pee Wee Reiner”/Leadline class for children aged 7 and under will be held on Sunday at 7:30 AM. Contestants will be required to enter by 6:00 PM on Saturday and to submit a short story line in writing (click here for form). Riders must be accompanied in the class by an adult who will lead the horse and rider at a walk. No “reining” maneuvers will be performed. “Outlaw” Rookie Class: A special GWRHA “Outlaw” Rookie class will be run concurrently with the Rookie classes on Sunday. This class will have a special jackpot payout consisting of funds we expect will be voluntarily contributed to a special jackpot for this class. The payout will be 100% of funds contributed and will be paid 50% to the Champion, 30% to the Reserve Champion and 20% to 3rd place. Contestants must me eligible to show in and must also be entered in the NRHA Rookie Level 1 and/or NRHA Rookie Level 2 and must show one handed. This class paid $1,000 at the October show! Trophies & Prizes: In addition to NRHA classes being awarded trophies based on NRHA guidelines, there will be “Slate/Circuit Prizes” awarded for 1st through 5th places in all NRHA and GWRHA double-slated classes and prizes for 1st through 5th places in all single-slated classes (see the Class Schedule). Please note that in order for your class entry/run to qualify as a valid score in these affiliate’s standings (for purposes of qualifying to advance to the Northwest Affiliate Regional Championships) you must be a current member in the affiliate(s) you are qualifying through prior to showing. NRHA members can accumulate qualifying runs in multiple affiliates however they must designate a single chosen affiliate by August 1st (click for NRHA Affiliate Designation Form). Slide for the Cure: Slide for the Cure is a program that helps support the fight against cancer by running certain concurrent classes during the show.When riders elect to enter their competition categories, they also have the opportunity to enter a Slide for the Cure class by paying an additional $30. Each time a rider enters a Cure class, their name is entered into a drawing for a Jim Taylor saddle donated by Equine Oasis and Hope Miller and a pair of Smokey’s Custom Chaps.The drawing will take place at the Low Roller Reining Classic/Northwest Affiliate Regional Championship show in Nampa, Idaho in October.The more times a person enters a Cure class, the greater chance they have to win the saddle or chaps and more funds are raised for the fight against cancer.
