Shari Allison
Inspector Shari Allison joined the NSW Police Force in 1989 and worked in general
duties at Kings Cross, Cootamundra and Tweed Heads police stations for the first half
of her service.
In 1996 she was a team leader with the Security Team Program for the Atlanta
Olympic Games, where she worked with international law enforcement officers,
private security, International Olympic Committee staff, and volunteers. For the 2000
Sydney Olympic Games she was part of the Marine Security Team in support of
security of athletes, sailing venues and Sydney Harbour.
In 2003 Inspector Allison was recruited as an intelligence analyst to work on the WA
Police Royal Commission into Corruption or Criminal Conduct.
Inspector Allison is currently the Manager of the NSW Police Force Professional
Standards Command, Internal Witness Support Unit. She was previously the team
leader in the Complaint Management Support Unit, working closely with commanders
and complaint management teams to ensure internal complaints were managed in an
efficient and timely manner. Prior to that was she an intelligence analyst responsible
for the analysis and research of complaints against police.
Inspector Allison also has particular interests in the professional development of
women in policing. She chaired the NSW Police Force Spokeswomen’s network in
2009.
