Aston Martin 3 Month Summer Internship (July to September 2015) Body & Vehicle Crashworthiness Computer Aided Engineering team Aston Martin Named the coolest brand for several years running, Aston Martin is recognised globally alongside brands such as Apple and Bang & Olufsen for its design and style. Body engineering is charged with making that style a reality. This is an opportunity to join the body CAE team who play a critical role in this process. Background The Body & VCW CAE team offer Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and design guidance to support several key areas of the business:    Full vehicle crash simulation to ensure all relevant legislative and internal crash performance targets are achieved; Structural analysis and design of the body structure and closures to meet stiffness, strength and vibration requirements; General FEA and structural design support to the broader Product Development team The Role The Body and VCW CAE team is looking for a bright and enthusiastic engineer to support the team for a 3 month summer internship. The role will involve assisting the CAE team in the development of the next generation of Aston Martin products. You will be required to build and analyse FEA models ranging from basic component models to full vehicle crash models. You will always be given support and guidance where required, but the ability to work autonomously using initiative and engineering judgement is vital. Requirements Applicants must have or be studying to complete an undergraduate Engineering degree (preferably Mechanical, Automotive or similar) and have a proven track record of high academic achievement. Experience of FEA is an advantage (particularly LS-DYNA and/or NASTRAN), but not essential.
