An everincreasing number of individuals routinely contribute and consume solicited and unsolicited information about a variety of health related issues using a wide range of internet and social media channels. Adoption of this data as a resource is hampered by concerns related to the accuracy and reliability of data. We believe that the ability to collect and evaluate this data for veracity would provide a benefit to public health and safety and ultimately contribute to improving healthcare outcomes. Mark Wolff, Ph.D., Principal Industry Consultant, Health & Life Sciences Global Practice, SAS Institute, Cary, NC 2:15- 2:30 p.m. Break 2:30-3:15 p.m. Using Data for Decision Making—A Case Study Forward-looking companies have long recognized the valuable insight collected from data and statistical analysis.
