Since 2004 OSU has partnered with SAS, a leading provider of business analytics software, to offer very successful data-mining and business analytics
certificate programs. A primary goal of this conference is to link OSU’s data mining and business analytics certificate programs and students who are
trained in analytics using SAS with members of the local and regional business community. SAS Analytics Day will introduce our certificate programs to
businesses and allow students and businesses to grow their professional network.

Speakers
DR. GOUTAM CHAKRABORTY is a
professor of marketing at Oklahoma State
University and manages a very successful Data
Mining Certificate Program in partnership with
SAS (http://analytics.okstate.edu/). He has
held managerial positions with a subsidiary of
Union Carbide, USA, and with a subsidiary of
British American Tobacco, UK. Dr. Chakraborty
has presented numerous programs and workshops to executives,
educators, and research professionals in the U.S., Europe, Asia,
Australia and Middle East. He has published in many scholarly
journals such as the Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal
of Advertising Research, Journal of Advertising, Journal of
Business Research, and Industrial Marketing Management. He
coauthored books Text Mining and Analysis: Practical Methods,
Examples, and Case Studies Using SAS® and Contemporary
Database Marketing: Concepts and Applications. He has chaired
several national conferences including the Direct Marketing
Educator’s Conference and the M2007 Data Mining Conference.
He earned his B. Tech (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from the
Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, PGCGM from the Indian
Institute of Management, Calcutta, M.S. in Statistics and a Ph.D.
in Marketing from the University of Iowa.
DAVID OGDEN is an advisory analytical
consultant for SAS Institute. He has more
than 25 years of experience in statistical
analysis and predictive modeling. Mr. Ogden’s
business experience has spanned operations
& financial analysis, database marketing,
acquisition & retention investment strategy
with a specialization in Customer Lifetime Value
methodology. Mr. Ogden has designed solutions in a diverse range
of industries including retail (traditional and online), telecom, health
sciences, oil & gas, non-profit, satellite television, and financial
services. His analytical solutions assist customers with business
challenges focusing on a variety of data mining and predictive
modeling applications including early warning systems, strategic
cost & revenue management, long-range economic modeling,
process improvements, marketing optimization, scenario analysis,
and demand forecasting.
PATRICK HALL is a senior machine learning
scientist for SAS Institute. He designs new data
mining and machine learning technologies
for SAS. He is also a Cloudera certified data
scientist and a certified SAS Enterprise
Miner predictive modeler. Mr. Hall is the
co-author of two recent patent applications
regarding unsupervised learning. He studied
computational chemistry at the University of Illinois before
graduating from the Institute for Advanced Analytics at North
Carolina State University.
DR. NALIKA DIYADAWA is the leader
of finance and talent management at Kavi
Global. She has more than 10 years of industry
experience and has been with Kavi since its
inception. Dr. Diyadawa holds a doctoral degree
in Adult and Higher Education from Northern
Illinois University, an MBA in Finance from
Pune University, Pune, India and a bachelor of
commerce degree in Business Management from Punjab University,
Chandigarh, India.
DOUG SHAVER is the director of customer
insight analytics at FedEx Services, which
is the largest global customer analytics
team serving the family of FedEx operating
companies. Analytics range across customer
segmentation and profiling, program and
campaign analytics, targeting analytics,
triggering process analytics, decision systems,
lifecycle, enterprise contact analytics, real estate decision analytics
and much more. He has been with FedEx for over 14 years. Prior to
his role at FedEx, he worked in the engineering guidance, navigation,
and control analytics field for 11 years. Mr. Shaver holds an MBA
from the University of Arizona, a M.S. in Aerospace Engineering
from the University of Texas, and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering
from the University of Alabama.

PRATEEK KHARE is a data scientist in the
Global Analytics Team of Ford Motor Credit
Company. He is involved in the phases of
statistical model development, evaluation and
deployment of credit scoring models. He is also
developing analytical modules using Hadoop
Ecosystem and High Performance Computing
for analytical process improvement. Mr. Khare’s
areas of focus are credit scoring, big data, HPC, visual analytics,
and consulting. He is also an entrepreneur and is working for
a startup, Plasma Bionics LLC, a medical, devices sterilization
company. He previously worked with MedSolutions Inc. as an
analyst. Mr. Khare has a B. Tech (Honors) in engineering from
the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, and a M.S. in
Management Information Systems from Oklahoma State University.
He is a member of NIT Alumni Association, OSU Alumni Association
and SAS Network.
KARTHIK NAKKEERAN is a technical
consultant in US Professional Services
Resource Management Organization for SAS
Institute. He provides support and consulting
services to SAS partner networks and small/
mid-size business sales organizations. Mr.
Nakkeeran’s primary emphasis is on solution
development, implementation and project
closeout at customer sites and also assisting sales teams with
sales activities and ensuring the highest levels of customer
satisfaction are achieved. Mr. Nakkeeran graduated from the SAS
OSU Data Mining program in the spring of 2012.
AMIT JAI KADAM is the vice president of
Advanced Analytics at Vivaki, which is an
ad tech arm of media conglomerate Publicis
Groupe. Prior to Vivaki, Mr. Kadam worked
with Spark and SMG Performance Marketing.
He is actively involved in Chicago’s digital
analytics chapter leadership. He also serves
as an adjunct faculty for Oklahoma State
University’s SAS data mining program, where he teaches an online
Digital Analytics course every fall. Mr. Kadam’s interests include
yoga, tennis, Indian classical music, and studying global cultures.
Karan Gandhi is a project manager at
Discover Financial Services. He has more
than five years of experience in credit risk
management, data-mining and predictive
analytics. He previously worked with JP
Morgan Chase as a Senior Strategy Analyst.
Mr. Gandhi’s expertise includes strategy
development, credit risk score models, and
portfolio management. He joined Oklahoma State University’s
Management Information Systems program in 2009 with a core
emphasis on data-mining. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science Engineering from India and is a Certified Base
Programmer for SAS 9 & Certified Predictive Modeler using SAS
Enterprise Miner 6.1.
Anil Madappully is director of consulting
services in the marketing effectiveness
group at Nielsen. His team is responsible for
measuring the impact of marketing on sales for
clients in the CPG vertical. Prior to Nielsen, Mr.
Madappully worked at various firms building
CRM solutions for clients in multiple verticals.
He has a Masters in Industrial Engineering and
Management from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelors in
Production Engineering from University of Mumbai.
Jay Omanson is a senior consultant, business
analytics for Kavi Global. He serves as a member
of the strategic consulting team, which provides
enterprise wide analytics strategy to leading
corporations. Mr. Omanson’s expertise includes
data management, data mining, statistics,
forecasting, simulation, predictive modeling and
optimization. He has experience in healthcare,
transportation and the construction industry. Mr. Omanson holds an
MBA from Oklahoma State University with an emphasis in Business
Analytics and a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from
Brigham Young University, Rexburg, Idaho.
Abhishek Pathak is a senior data analyst
in marketing and analytics at Capital One
Bank. He provides analytical support for the
business to solve their strategy problems.
His work encapsulates areas such as NPV
analytics, Direct Bank portfolio monitoring and
others. Mr. Pathak has previous experience in
credit lending where he worked on building
and deploying credit risk models, monitoring credit and marketing
portfolio, and developing visual dashboards. He has a M.S. in
Industrial Engineering and Management from Oklahoma State
University and a bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering from
the University of Mumbai.
KUNAL PAREKH is the senior analytics
scientist for Verisk Health. He has worked in
the data mining world for seven years and has
substantial experience in the healthcare and
financial services domain. Some of his projects
include building statistical models, creating
credit card models and performing cash
flow calculations for portfolios, performing
text mining on workers compensation data. Mr. Parekh has a
master’s degree in MIS (Management of Information Systems)
from Oklahoma State University and a bachelor’s degree in
Electronic Engineering from Mumbai University.
