Adult Volunteer/Chaperone Job Description
Time Commitment:
1-week, June 21-26, 2015
Responsible to:
Adult 4-H Resident Camp Director
Responsible for:
The Adult Volunteer-Chaperone works in partnership with youth camp staff who
develop and deliver activities in a camp setting. The Adult Volunteer-Chaperone is also responsible for the
safety and well-being of campers.

Selection Process:


Must be at least 21 years old and complete 4-H volunteer certification.
Must have a CPR/First Aid Certification (free-online training is available)
Desire and ability to work with teenagers and children, providing feedback,
 encouragement, and coaching.
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
 Basic organizational skills.
 Available to be at camp each day of the camp session.
Attend Chaperone Orientation tentatively set for Monday, June 15, 2014, 6-8:00pm
Partner with teen staff to oversee camp activities.
Assist teen staff with campers.
Responsible for safety and well-being of campers.
Assist teen staff with delivery of program activities if needed, including craft,
kitchen, and nature.
  Help with additional camp jobs and duties, as needed.
 Participate in program evaluation.
Hands-on experience working with both teenagers and elementary school-aged
 students.
 Opportunity to be part of a fun week!
 May bring their younger children (5-8) to camp, provided the child is capable
 of independent participation in the on-going camp program.
 Receive a $100 discount for 1 child to attend camp.
