EVENT HISTORY AND MISSION Annual Convention was started by the CFA nearly the same time as the Association itself. From the beginning, CFA (then PCWCA) was created to produce an environment where contractors could learn from each other, contribute to the direction of the industry and receive insight to business and product that would elevate their own organizations beyond the competition. Annual Convention has also been an event focused on the generational uniqueness of this industry. No other construction sector has the wealth of experience with multigenerational ownership and no other industry event expressly seeks to include family in the fabric of the network. The CFA Annual Convention has catered to the diversity of the industry and taken cues from the diversity of the North American market its members serve. From San Francisco, California to Stowe, Vermont; Niagara Falls, Ontario to Branson, Missouri; Albuquerque, New Mexico to Williamsburg, Virginia, this event has created a backdrop of beauty and energy each and every year. Convention Mission: To inspire contractors toward a vision of higher quality, greater confidence and broader diversity through intensive social networking, business modeling and product technology. 3 LOCATION HISTORY 15 – WILLIAMSBURG, VIRGINIA 14 – SANDUSKY, OHIO 13 – SANTA ANA PUEBLO, NEW MEXICO 12 – TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN 11 – WINTERGREEN, VIRGINIA 10 – BRANSON, MISSOURI 09 – AMELIA ISLAND, FLORIDA 08 – SANTA ANA PUEBLO, NEW MEXICO 07 – STOWE, VERMONT 06 – WISCONSIN DELLS, WISCONSIN 05 – SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA 04 – BRECKENRIDGE, COLORADO 03 – MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA 4 2015 CFA CONVENTION “LABOR IS THE NEW MOLD” WILLIAMSBURG, VIRGINIA COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG LODGE JULY 22-25, 2015 12 2015 CONVENTION SCHEDULE Wednesday, July 30 Insurance CaptivE……………………………………………………………………………..8 am-Noon Board of Directors…………………………………………………………………………………..1-5 pm Thursday, July 31 Higher Quality Design Mixes………………………………………………………………….8 am-5 pm Identifying the Attributes of a Good Concrete Mix – Basham………………………..8-10 am Specifying and Controlling the Concrete Mix – Penepent…………………………..10-11 am LUNCH………………………………………………………………………………..11-12:30 pm Researching for Optimum Concrete Mix – Purinton……………..………….12:30 – 2:00 pm Maturity: Monitoring and Prediction Technology – Gnaedinger……………………….2-3 pm Kick-Off Bash w/ Exhibits 6-9 pm Friday, August 1 Wake Up Williamsburg……………………………………………...………………………7:30-8:00 am Speed Networking…………………………………………………………………….……..8:00-9:00 am Designing a Legal Workforce – Whitlock……………………………………………...….9:00-11:00am “Generation I”-Who Are They? - Ells……………………………………………………..….11:00-Noon Lunch w/ Exhibits…………………………………………………………………………...12:00-1:00 pm Annual Meeting…………………………………………………………………………………..1-1:30 pm Round Tables…………………………………………………………………………………1:30-3:30 pm Color Code Your Fillers – Gore Applications for Employment – Staebler Content 3 Content 4 Evening Awards Gala…………………………………………………...………………………6-9:00 pm Saturday, August 2 Morning Cup ‘O Joe - Herbert………………………………………………………………7:30-8:15 am ACI/CFA Certification Exam…………………………………………………………...………8-10:00 am To Incentivize Or Not Incentivize - Whitlock…………………………………………..…..8:15-9:30 am What’s in a Loss Run Report – Captive Mgmt…………………………………..………9:30-10:30 am Break………………………………………………………………………………..……...10:30-10:45 am The Storm Cellar – Purinton/Thermomass …………………………………………..10:45-11:45 am Vehicle Maintenance is Anything But Fleet - Staebler…………………………………..11:45-1:00 pm Enjoy Colonial Williamsburg………………………………………………………………...1:00-7:30 pm Informal Social………………………………………………………………………………7:30 pm-Close 13 THANK YOU! 14
