2005-2014 A Decade of Giving
The Community Foundation for San Benito County has come a long way since our formation in
1992. For the past ten years, our generous donors have fed the hungry, nurtured youth, championed
education, sheltered the homeless, and enriched our local heritage. We are extremely proud to report
that during this time the Foundation has awarded over $5,228,121 to local San Benito County
charities, with an additional $2,294,000 granted to nonprofits outside of our community.
Here at the Community Foundation, we believe that change begins with you - one dream and one
journey at a time. Our mission is to inspire and foster a culture of community philanthropy. Our
goals are to make charitable-giving simple and effective, to help connect people with the causes they
care most about, and to make a significant impact on important needs throughout our community and
beyond. We help each of our donors to invest in their area of interest, joining together toward
building a thriving community for today and future generations.
Our 2014 Annual Report shows our grant making and impact for the past year. Additionally, as a
reflection of our caring community, we have highlighted our key areas of sustained funding for the
past decade.
The Community Foundation for San Benito County was established and is being maintained to be
here forever. With that in mind, our work is just beginning. Together with you, our donors, we can
continue to make a difference - one gift and one journey at a time.

“Founded in 1992, the Foundation
grew quietly from the very ground
of our County until ten years ago,
when it formally invited grant
applications from local charitable
organizations.
Today, with a board of trustees
elected from recognized leaders of
the County, and through gifts
primarily from County residents as
well as the David and Lucile
Packard Foundation, the
Community
Foundation
for San
Benito
County has
become an

Richard and Anne enterprise!”
