P-Cast-On for Round Knitting Looms and Single Sided Rakes The P-Cast-on leaves a nice crochet edging. I would recommend it for any item where you would like to achieve a nice non-loopy edge. The idea of this cast-on method originated from a Provisional needle knitted cast-on method. I needed a provisional cast-on for one of my needle knitted scarves and after finding the easiest one, the light bulb in my head turned on and I decided to try it out on a loom. Since, it originated from a provisional cast on, I thought of keeping the P from the original name. Enjoy! © Copyright 2006, Isela Phelps.
