Next: Work Baby Bear as written, EXCEPT, work 5 sts for the border
stitches on each side before the markers on each side. In other
words, each row will begin and end in K5 instead of K2. That’s
easy, isn’t it? 
And… work until piece measures 6” from beginning, ending with a
RS row. Next, Knit 10 rows. Then, bind off all sts in knit.
The Dishcloth Version of the Mama Bear:
To make your square a wee bit bigger so that it is a great size for a
dishcloth, simply make the following adjustments:
CO 32 sts. Knit 10 rows.

Yarn:
Needles:
Extra Stuff:
50-75 yards of worsted weight yarn
Size 7 or size needles to get gauge
Tapestry needle for finishing, cable needle,
markers.
Finished Size: 6” x 6” square

Your squares can be used to create…. Dishcloths, a
scarf, a sweater, a baby blanket, an afghan or a tote bag! Each
design will need a different number of squares! If, for instance, you
are making a sweater or a blanket… you may want to consider
making more than one of each square! If you are making
dishcloths, see the special note at the end of this pattern. ALSO, if
you are making a scarf… there’s a special note for you too! Check
it out before you start!
