Scholarship Golf Outing

Howdy everyone:
Another unbelievably long winter and unseasonably cold spring weather has us appreciating good weather
finally. So get ready by rounding up a foursome and head out to the annual Lake Branch golf outing. Last
year was another huge success so we are back again one more time to Prairie Isle Golf Course with an
8:30 am shotgun start. We will have a BBQ lunch on the course and immediately following the outing
we will be having appetizers while giving away prizes inside the air conditioned clubhouse. There
are excellent sponsorship opportunities for consultants and vendors and the outing will be a great time for
everyone.
In the middle of all this fun, please remember that the sole purpose of the outing is to raise money for the
scholarship fund. We are in the sixth straight year of a tough economy, and piecing together fragile budgets
in all of our organizations reminds us all of the struggles faced by these students and their families. The
Lake Branch of the Chicago Metropolitan Chapter of the American Public Works Association has
scholarships available for eligible students pursuing a degree in Public Works Administration, Civil
Engineering or Environmental Engineering, and individuals pursuing continuing education courses relating
to public works. Eligible students/individuals must either reside, attend an educational institution, or be
employed within the geographical boundaries of Lake County.
Costs of education keep rising, so every scholarship we can provide helps lighten the load for these
dedicated young people. Come make this effort a reality by joining the Lake Branch Chapter at Prairie Isle
Golf Course in Prairie Grove, IL on July 16, 2015. The event will be a scramble event with a delicious
barbeque lunch on the course. Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Arrive
early for a complimentary continental breakfast following registration. Great door prizes, free stuff, cold
libations, tons of challenging contests, and of course golf are all on the day’s fun agenda. Come spend the
day with friends and do something great for the future of Public Works!
Included with this letter is a registration form to be used for foursome reservations and sponsorships, or
hopefully both. We have a maximum of 144 golfers, so please get your reservations, sponsorship fees and
donations turned in as soon as possible, as we anticipate a great day and it is first come, first served…so
don’t miss out! Remember, the event is not just about chasing the little white ball, it is about our future,
be generous, please.

Par Sponsor @ $300
A sponsor sign with company name and logo will be prominently displayed on the tee of a chosen hole.
Plus, the sponsor’s name and logo will also be displayed on the golf outing literature.
Birdie “Beverage Sponsorship” @ $500 (8 available)
Sponsors will have their name listed on the new “Birdie Koozie” that will be given to each golfer at checkin. Plus, their name and logo will be listed on beverage cart signs and golf outing literature. Please provide a
shirt size (S-XXL) for the company representative to receive on the registration form.
Eagle “Event Hole Sponsorship” @ $600 (4 available)
A sponsor’s sign with company name and logo will be displayed on the tee of the event hole (beat the schmo,
closest to the pin, longest drive, longest putt, etc). The sponsor will staff the event hole and can compete
against each foursome as they play through. This is a great opportunity to network with your fellow APWA
members and enjoy a wonderful day! In addition to that, the sponsors’ company name and logo will be
displayed on the golf outing literature. Please provide a shirt size (S-XXL) for the company representative to
receive on the registration form.
Breakfast Sponsor @ $500 (2 available)
The sponsor will have their company name and logo displayed around/inside the clubhouse/restaurant. The
sponsorship is for the continental breakfast that is provided to the golfers before the outing. The breakfast
includes fruit, coffee, juice, bagels, donuts and rolls. This year the fixings for Bloody Mary’s will be
available to help warm up those swings! The sponsor’s name and logo will also be displayed on the golf
outing literature.
Registration Sponsor @ $1,600 (includes 1 foursome)
The sponsor’s name or logo will be displayed on an item (gym bag) that will be given to each golfer at
check-in. The sponsor will have the courtesy of teeing off from Hole #9 and their name and logo will be
displayed on the golf outing literature. Please provide a shirt size (S-XXL) for the company representative to
receive on the registration form.
Golf Ball Sponsor @ $1,800 (includes 1 foursome)
The sponsor’s name or logo will be placed on the golf balls and a 3-pack will be given to each golfer at
check-in. The sponsor will have the courtesy of teeing off from Hole #10 and their name and logo will be
displayed on the golf outing literature. Please provide a shirt size (S-XXL) for the company representative to
receive on the registration form.
BBQ Lunch Sponsor @ $2,500 (includes 2 foursomes)
The Big Daddy of sponsors will be the talk of the outing. The sponsor’s company name and logo will be
prominently displayed on signs inside/around the clubhouse/restaurant. The sponsor will have the courtesy
of teeing off from Hole # 1 and will receive special attention from the beverage carts/volunteers during the
outing! The sponsor’s name and logo will also be displayed on the golf outing literature. Please provide a
shirt size (S-XXL) for the company representative to receive on the registration form.
Gifts & Donations to be used as Prizes
We appreciate any and all gifts or donations that can be utilized as door prizes. If it’s a golf club, dozen golf
balls with your company logo, gift card for a spa day or message, sports memorabilia, electronic items,
tickets to a sporting event, we appreciate it! Please let us know in advance of any gifts and donations so we
can appropriately recognize your company at the outing.
