ABREVATIONS:
Ch – chain
Sl – slip stitch
Sc - single crochet
Tks – Tunisian knit stitch
Ttc - Tunisian triple crochet
SPECIAL STITCHES USED:
Single crochet foundation stitch:
Ch 2. Insert hook in the second stitch from hook, yarn over and pull up a loop of yarn (2 loops on
hook) Ch 1, (2 loops on hook); yarn over, pull through both loops on hook. (1 single crochet foundation stitch made). *Insert hook into the ch-1 space below the previous stitch; pull up a loop (2 loops
on hook); ch 1 (2 loops on hook); yarn over, pull through both loops on hook. Repeat from * until you
have the required number of stitches.
Tunisian triple crochet (Ttc):
Wrap yarn around hook 2 times; insert hook into designated stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over,
[pull through 2 loops] 3 times, leaving last loop on hook when moving to the next stitch.
Tunisian knit stitch (Tks):
Insert hook from the front between the legs of the vertical bar of row you are working, yarn over
and pull up a loop. Finish stitch as appropriate for pattern.

DIRECTIONS:
This pattern is written with the directions for the worsted weight yarn with the directions for the sock
weight and chenille yarns in parenthesis. If there are no parenthesis, the direction applies to all scarves.
Make a row of 24(46, 89) single crochet foundation stitches. Chain 3 and turn work.
(Note – this is the last time you will turn your work until the end of the scarf.)
FIRST FORWARD ROW:
Do this row just once.
Ttc in second st from hook, *skip 4 sts, 5 ttc in next stitch, skip 4 sts, 1 ttc in next 2 stitches*
Repeat from * to* to the end of the row. (2 (4, 9) clusters)
RETURN ROW:
For this and every return row:
Yarn over hook, pull through 1 stitch, yarn over and pull through 2; * ch 1; yarn over and pull through 2
across the 5 stitch cluster; ch 1; [yarn over and pull through 2] twice; repeat from * to the end of the row.
Ch 3.
FORWARD ROW:
For this and every forward row:
Ttc in the second stitch from hook; * 5 ttc in third stitch of the 5-stitch cluster, 1 ttc in next two stitches *;
repeat from * to* across row.
Repeat the return and forward rows until the scarf is as long as you want it to be or until you are almost
out of yarn.
FINISHING:
After a return row, instead of chaining 3, ch 1. Tks in the next stitch,* 4 sc (up to cluster of 5), tks in each of
next 5 stitches, 4 sc, tks in next 2 stitches *, repeat from * to * to end of row. Chain 1, turn work, sc in
each stitch across. Finish off; weave in ends.
To make a mobius scarf
Twist one end of scarf and sew the beginning chain to the end row, being careful to go through each
single crochet.
