At COPPA, we believe it is crucial to expose our students to much
more than an education within the four walls of a classroom. On
Tuesday, May 12, 2015, a group of 36 COPPA students, parents
and chaperones embarked on a field study trip to the Colonial
and Historic sites of Boston, Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C.,
New York and the surrounding areas. This is the second year the
5th grade class had the opportunity to experience our nation’s
heritage areas they have learned about in the classroom.
They experienced tours of Plymouth Plantation, Freedom
Trail, Harvard University, the Kennedy Library, Paul
Revere’s
home,
Monticello,
Jamestown,
Colonial
Williamsburg, Mt. Vernon, the Jefferson Monument, the King
Monument, The Library of Congress, The Smithsonian, The
White House, and numerous other stops along the Capitol
Mall,. In New York City, they visited The Statue of Liberty,
