La collezione Melys PE 2012 è dedicata al mondo della
maglieria, alle sue interpretazioni e al savoir faire che ne
esalta le lavorazioni. La storia di Melys è quella dell’Italia,
di una cultura femminile tramandata da nonna a nipote,
all’ombra di una pianta, mentre si sogna la vita.
Con questo nuovo episodio Melys ha cercato di
raccontare tale tradizione, traducendola e indirizzandola
a moderne ragazze cittadine del mondo. Interpretando
cosi la perfezione manifatturiera come sfida, la cura del
dettaglio come missione, la passione per lo stile pensato
per una donna che desidera essere, ancor prima di
apparire. Una scelta che predilige la qualità e si riconosce
in un vestire semplificato e senza tempo.
Protagoniste le mischie di cotone e cashmere, la
freschezza della seta crepe, lo chic del cordonetto di
cotone e il confort della viscosa appena lucida, con un
accenno d’acciaio a sottolineare, stemperandola, la
geometria degli orli. Ritorna la memoria delle “righe di
famiglia” e dei bordi con catene rifinite a crochet quali
ingredienti di una nuova collezione, dove il popeline
di cotone crea in trompe l’oeil, nuovi e contemporanei
volumi. Le perle minimaliste servono da punteggiatura
e l’uso personale di foulards “vintage” rende prezioso
e irripetibile ogni singolo pezzo, regalando ad ognuna
l’esclusiva e il privilegio di un capo unico.

Melys SS 2012 collection is dedicated to the knitting
world, to its interpretations and savoir faire exalting the
manufacturing. Melys’ story is the Italian one, a woman
culture handed on from granny to grandchild, on the
shadow of a tree while they were dreaming about life.
Thanks to this new episode Melys has tried to tell
tradition, translating and addressing it to modern girls
living today’s world. Interpreting the manufacturing
perfection as a challenge, the care for the details as
a mission, the passion for a designed style addressed to
a woman wishing to be rather than to appear. A choice
that prefers quality and recognizes itself in a simple
dressing style out of time.
Cashmere and cotton blending are the protagonists,
the freshness of the crepe silk, the cordonnet cotton
chic style and the comfort of the glossy viscose with a
sign of steel to emphasize, mixing it, the geometry of the
trimmings. The memory of the “family stripes” comes back
and the edges with chains finished with the crochet-hook
as ingredients of a new collection where the cotton poplin
creates new modern volumes in trompe l’oeil.
The minimalist pearls are used as punctuation and the
personal use of vintage scarves turns every piece into a
precious and unrepeatable one. Then every woman is given
the exclusive right and privilege of a unique item of clothing.
