Our welcome brochure is produced to guide you in the best possible way when you are admitted in one of
our five institutions. You will find many useful information and pieces of advice to help you organise your
arrival at the hospital.
Some elements of this brochure may be changed during the year. All the information given are indicative and

WELCOME TO CHIREC
«Interregional Hospital Centre Edith Cavell»
The Centre Hospitalier Interregional Edith Cavell, aka CHIREC, is an institution composed of 5 hospitals and
2 medical centres. In 2017, CHIREC will develop into 3 hospital sites and 5 medical centres:
4 clinics based in Brussels:
- Edith Cavell Clinic (Uccle - Brussels South)
- Park Leopold Clinic (Etterbeek - East-Centre of Brussels)
- Basilique Clinic (Ganshoren - Brussels West)
- St-Anne St-Remi Clinic (Anderlecht - Brussels West)
2 polyclinics based in Brussels:
- Europe-Lambermont (Schaerbeek - Brussels North)
- City Clinic Chirec Louise (Brussels Centre)
1 hospital in the walloon Brabant
- Braine-l’Alleud-Waterloo Hospital (20km away from Brussels)

Practical information
1. Your admission
If you require hospitalisation in one of our CHIREC sites, the administrative procedures related to registration must be
completed at the admission office.
For your registration, we ask you to bring :

x-rays or CD’s and protocols of previous examinations,
possibly the doctor’s request requiring hospitalization,
contact of the doctor.

Weekly menus are proposed. They offer a wide range of
dishes for the main meals. The staff will take care to note
the patient’s choices in due time.
Do not hesitate to ask the nurses to call a dietetician for any
alimentary questions.

RELIGIOUS OR MORAL SUPPORT :
The hospital Group respects all convictions, whether personal, religious, moral, or philosophical. Upon admission,
you may fill in the appropriate form and call upon a lay
counselor or a representative of the religion of your choice.
OTHER :
Cut flowers are permitted, but plants are probited because
of hygiene.
The hospital is tobacco-free. The law formally prohibits
smoking in the hospital.
HAIRDRESSER - PEDICURE ESTHETICIAN
In some of our sites (Edith Cavell, Parc Leopold, St-Anne
St-Remi and Braine-l’Alleud-Waterloo), these services are
available.

5. Your departure
The day and the hour of your departure will be decided by
your doctor.
Please inform the nurses of your service of your departuretime.
You will receive by mail the total bill for your hospitalisation, resuming the subsistence of any examination performing during your stay, pharmacy, specific material, sundry
expenses and fees, which are deducted from the refunds of
your deposits and mutualinsurance..
We hope that you will be satisfied with the quality of our care and
services you have received. However, we would be happy to know the
degree of your satisfaction, so that we may improve. If you did not get
the opportunity to fill out the satisfaction survey that was given to you
during your stay, do not hesitate to send it to us, noting that it concerns
“quality of service”.
