This session is being held to ensure that the needs of the commissioners in the southern districts are met, but all are welcome. The theme for this year’s College of Commissioner Science is that “Every leader deserves a well-trained Commissioner”. This theme is an echo of the idea that “Every boy deserves a well-trained leader”. I believe that this theme reflects our commitment to serve units and unit leaders and to help them be as effective as possible. To those in scouting, the symbol of the commissioner badge represents someone who has accepted the role of one who serves others. This version of the College of Commissioner Science will be a great day of learning and fellowship with other scouters. There is also the opportunity to earn the recognition of a Bachelor’s degree in Commissioner Science. The College will also include the Basic Unit Commissioner Training course, the specialized course for “New Unit” Unit Commissioners, and the basic course for District and Assistant District Commissioners. This year we are addressing more of the needs of the Round Table Commissioners. We are adding the Round Table Commissioner Basic training to the Baylor program. We are also adding the new Bachelors of Round Table Science courses to the TUC program. We are compressing the instruction into seven 50 minute classes. This schedule will require us to work hard to get through all of the material in these courses. This schedule also allows you the opportunity to complete the Bachelor’s degree in commissioner science in a single day of instruction. The Master’ s and Doctorate programs will be available at the College of Commissioner Science on August 1st on the TCU campus. In this catalogue you will find information on the courses offered and the various degree requirements. We have provided an online registration site using survey monkey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LNKKRCS . You should pre-register for this event if at all possible. It will help us to plan more effectively so we can be more ready to serve those who attend. The fees will cover lunch, teaching supplies and the wonderful facilities at Baylor. You can also order a name tag, which this year will have the magnetic backing. We appreciate all of those who serve and are helping to put on this event. We hope that this College will help you better serve your units. To quote the entrance sign on my alma mater: “Enter to learn, go forth to serve.” Thank you and we will see you on College Day!
