Member of Parliament for Mogoditshane
constituency, Patrick Masimolole opened yet
another Choppies retail store in the area, praising
for the Group’s economic and social development
contribution in the country.
Mogoditshane Choppies supermarket adds to a
string of four stores the Choppies management
has so far opened in the sprawling economic
activity location.
The store will employ the residents of
Mogoditshane as it has continued to employ locals
wherever they open a store across the country,
helping in the fight against unemployment.
“I have learnt the new Choppies has employed
approximately 80 Batswana most of whom the
residents of Mogoditshane. I encourage the
management to do more,” stated Masimolole in
his brief speech when officially opening the store.
The legislator wished the opening could not be
the last in the constituency.

Situated along Molepolole road opposite Sir

supermarket is a strategic point for customers
including motorists heading for expansive
Kweneng district wishing to buy two or three
items they failed to obtain in other outlets on
their way in and out of Gaborone.
Behind the store is also Mogoditshane police
station whose personnel is also expected to
descend the shop.
Although a business oriented enterprise,
Choppies management also takes care of their
corporate social responsibility by sparing some
moments to assists the vulnerable people in their
areas of operation.
Also in their Corporate Social Responsibility
agenda is the vulnerable youths who feature i n
the popular My Star television show co-sponsored
by Choppies designed to unearth talent at early
stage amongst other empowerment ventures.

“Job creation is a big issue in the country
particularly amongst the youths and for your
support we thank you,” Masimolole further added.
While Choppies stores may seem scattered
all over Mogoditshane, Choppies Marketing
Manager Otsile Marole attributed the move to
the sprawling growing population.
“Mogoditshane is growing considerably and as
such we found it fit open the store to meet the
demands of our valued customers,” she said.
Afro-pop sensation Astley Gops in collaboration
with mpaqanga singer Sep graced the occasion
as will other ‘BW’ musicians including Sis-Flo,
the diminutive aspiring disco songbird who has
become a friend of Choppies.
Whenever the enterprise makes a landmark
development, the presence of Sis-Flo cannot go
unnoticed; thanks to her “Choppies” praise melody
that has earned herself a great partnership with
management.
