How to get to Bergen:
By plane:
You can fly to Bergen Airport Flesland direct from more than 30 central destinations in Europe.
From the biggest transport hubs, such as Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London, Helsinki,
Tokyo, Stockholm, Reykjavik and Oslo, you only need to change planes once to get here from
other more distant cities.
By ferry:
You find direct routes from Dennmark. Departure (international): Hirtshals, Denmark (Fjord
Line) www.fjordline.no. The Fjord Line's terminal in Bergen is located on Nøstegaten 30, a ten
minute walk from the city center.
By train:
You can travel from Oslo directly to Bergen by train. Tickets for sale at the Tourist Information
in Bergen or at www.nsb.no.
By car from Oslo:
Bergen - Eidfjord - Gol - Oslo: Rv. 7 Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau. Ferry connection
between Bruravik and Brimnes (a 10-minute crossing).
Bergen - Lærdal - Fagernes - Oslo: E16 via the Lærdal Tunnel (no toll).
Distance: 478 kilometres.

How to get to the city center:
Airport bus:
Bergen Airport Bus is the best way to get to the center of Bergen. When you arrive at Bergen
Airport Flesland you will find the bus stop just outside the arrival hall. The airport is located about
15 kilometers south of Bergen and the journey takes approx. 25 minutes at off-peak hours, up to
45 minutes at peak hours.
For more departure times, inquire the airlines or at the Tourist Information (roughly: departs three
times per hour, less frequently on weekends). You can book your ticket in advance.
First departure at week days is around 4am from the center of Bergen to the airport and the last
airport bus from the airport to the center of Bergen departs around 15-20 minutes after the last
flight landing (this is information per April 2015).
Starting at the airport. From here it is two lines, both going to the center of Bergen; one via
Fyllingsdalen and one via Lagunen. It does not matter which one you use if you’re going to the
center of Bergen as they stop at the same places in the center of Bergen. The bus stops only at
sign between the airport and the first stop in the center of Bergen. All stops are announced. Please
signal when you wish to depart.
The bus stops in the center of Bergen are: Bus station, Festplassen, Fish Market and Bryggen.

Taxi:
Taxi stand is located close to main entrance of the airport. The trip to the city center takes approx..
30 - 40 minutes, depending on traffic. The price, if you travel from the airport to the city center is
approx. 500 NOK depending on the day of the week, the traffic and the hour of the day.
All taxis in Bergen have meters. Almost all of the taxi drivers in Bergen speak English.
