The Little Green Sheep was founded in 2005 by Mark Nicholls
& Paul Maurice, based on the simple idea of offering parents
and babies the best in baby bedtimes.
It soon became clear that creating the best products often
meant using natural and organic materials; and so the Little
‘Green’ Sheep was born!

Why are mattresses so important?
Newborn babies sleep on average 18 hours per day and
whether that is in their Moses basket, crib or cot, choosing
the right mattress and support for your baby is crucial to
aid their development and ensure a good night’s sleep
(for everyone!).
Confused?
With such a wide range in choice, selecting the perfect mattress can
seem a daunting task for any parent! So to make things a little easier,
here are our most commonly asked questions:
Q. Surely all mattresses have fire proofing chemicals in them?
A. Yes, most cot mattresses do, however not The Little Green Sheep’s! By using untreated fleece wool
(a natural fire retardant), all our mattresses pass the relevant British fire safety standards naturally.
Q. Can I re-use my mattress?
A. It is strongly recommended that you purchase a new mattress for every new baby. However, if this is
not possible ensure that your mattress is clean, well fitting and from a source you know.
Q. Why coconut fibres and not springs?
A. The coconut fibre layer acts as thousands of tiny springs, helping distribute the baby’s weight across
the entire mattress, minimising pressure points and reducing the risk of sagging.
Q. I thought latex was a synthetic material?
A. No. In its purest form, latex is 100% natural and is made using sap from the Hevea tree. Unlike The
Little Green Sheep mattresses, many manufacturers use a synthetic blend of latex that contains chemicals
and is often treated with fire proofing additives

England from 100% solid beech wood, the Ryeland guarantees the highest quality craftsmanship

Use
The Ryeland’s sustainable design means that
there is little or no wastage in materials.
This is because unlike many cot bed’s, the
Ryeland has been specifically designed for
all cot components to be reused again when
it is converted into a junior bed. So nothing
to store or take to the tip, and better for the
environment too!
Each cot bed has been designed to work

Delivery of in stock items is usually within 1-2 working days. Our delivery charge will
depend on the size and weight of your order. Small orders (e.g. bedding and accessories) is
a flat rate £3.95 to Mainland UK, Medium orders (e.g. mattresses) £6.95 and Large orders
(e.g. Ryeland cot bed) £29.95 per order. Don’t worry; you will only be charged delivery once
