INTENDED AUDIENCE
Those involved in the delivery of health care in both clinical and/or non-clinical roles.
PURPOSE
The primary objective of the 2015 annual Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Symposium
is to promote and develop an understanding of the value framework as a context for performance
improvement in healthcare through interactive learning sessions, networking within and outside
the University of Iowa, sharing improvement stories via poster sessions, and celebration of practical
success. Attendees will walk away with tools to improve as well as measure the value of care they
provide in their workplace.

CPE Monitor, www.MyCPEMonitor.net. Attendance is required for the entire conference to obtain
CPE credit. No partial CPE credit will be provided.
Pharmacists will receive 7.0 contact hours or 0.7 CEU of continuing pharmacy education for
participation in the entire conference. The ACPE UAN for this knowledge-based CPE activity is

Other Health Care Professionals: All other health care professionals will receive a certificate of
completion. It is the responsibility of each attendee to determine if the continuing education

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT
The poster session and reception will take place in the Eckstein Medical Research Building (EMRB)
Atrium, 431 Newton Road, Iowa City.
The symposium will take place at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, 200 Hawkins Drive,
Iowa City, in the Medical Alumni Auditorium (E331 GH), 3rd Floor, General Hospital. Please park in Parking Ramp 1. The fee to park in the ramp is $18 per day. Other parking ramps are
quite far away. Proceed to the ground floor of the parking ramp and exit the parking ramp through
the double glass doors to the east of the elevators. Using the crosswalk out of the ramp, enter through
the West Entrance and proceed directly down the long hallway to the large compass on the floor, in the
middle of the hallway intersection. Take Elevator B to the 3rd floor and proceed east to E331.
Determination of educational content for this program and the selection of speakers are
responsibilities of the program director. Firms providing financial support did not have
input in these areas.
