Leave your legacy on the new colonnade. Garden Terrace Plaza Terrace The Library West Colonnade of the Future .................................. Garden Terrace Alligator Sculpture Plaza Terrace The Library West colonnade was built in 1967 and a larger space is now needed to accommodate the academic and social activities of students today. A proposed colonnade, designed by Brame Heck Architects, Inc., will complement the redesigned Plaza of the Americas and provide an enhanced outdoor environment for students at Library West, the humanities and social sciences library. The seating capacity under the colonnade and on adjoining terraces will be 294, with 214 at tables and 80 on benches and the brick walls. The new colonnade will feature a skylight, large ceiling fans, and charging stations at most tables and along the brick walls. Solar panels will provide electricity and wireless Internet will be available. The design integrates beautifully into the facade of the library. Leave your legacy that millions of visitors can see each year. Many opportunities are available for you to sponsor a table or bench. Your gift will be recognized with a permanent bronze plaque in honor of, in memory of, or in celebration of a loved one or yourself. The name will be associated with the University of Florida in perpetuity.
