Goal of the Camp
“The goal of our camp is to provide every camper with the basic
fundamentals necessary to play basketball at an affordable cost. We
did not start this camp to make money. In comparison to other camps
in the area our price is inexpensive. This basketball camp was started
to give the children of Cohoes an opportunity to improve their
basketball skills. We emphasize the fundamentals. Everyone will
receive individual attention. We want each camper to be a better
player when the week is over.”
Coach Jeff Huneau

The Camp
The morning session will be devoted to the development of individual
skills. Campers will be taught all aspects of individual offensive and
defensive basketball during stations. These stations will cover
shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, screening, and man to man
defense. Every camper will receive “hands-on” experience as they go
through drills aimed at teaching the techniques of the game of
basketball.
Each morning, Coach Huneau will cover topics such as
communication, self-improvement, teamwork, how to practice and
what coaches look for in players.
Following lunch, there will be a guest speaker. A shooting clinic will
be given each day as well. League games, arranged by age groups,
are devoted to developing the team concept and the incorporation of
the skills learned during teaching stations. Also, campers will
compete in skills contests by age group.
Campers should bring a bag lunch. Drinks will be sold at the
camp site
