THE 4TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS AND HEALTH IN AFRICA THEME: SPARKING INNOVATIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS AND HEALTH SECURITY IN AFRICA Call for abstracts The Africa-US Integrated Disease Management (AFRUS-IDM) network will host an international conference on sustainable livelihoods and health in Africa. The purpose of this conference is to demonstrate impact of international partnerships on community livelihoods and health. The specific objectives are: a) To showcase achievements and innovations from academia, industry, community and public sector, b) To disseminate research findings, c) To provide mentorship opportunities, and d) To broaden and strengthen training, research and community outreach networks. The key areas where presentations are invited are highlighted under each sub-theme. Sub-theme 1 will specifically focus on the Capacity building in Integrated Management of Trans-boundary Animal Diseases and Zoonoses (CIMTRADZ) Project. Submit soft copies of abstracts in MS Word for both papers and posters ii. Title: Times new Roman, Bold, font size 12 iii. Author(s): Surname and initials, Times New Roman, font size 12. Underline presenters name iv. Address(es): Times New Roman, Font size 10, italics, no abbreviation. For multiauthorship, indicate address of each co-author numerically in superscript. Provide e-mail address and Tel. No. of corresponding author v. The abstract should be one flowing paragraph in Times New Roman, 12 Pts, single spacing vi. The Number of words should not exceed 300 (this excludes the title, authors and their addresses) vii. The abstract should be one flowing paragraph comprising an introduction with a clear justification; objectives of the research; a brief methodology; key results and conclusions drawn from the findings. viii. Indicate the conference sub-theme where the abstract falls ix. Indicate whether the abstract is for oral or poster presentation x. Poster: Posters must be on A1 size (594 x 841 mm or 23.4 x 33.1 in) Please note that the proceedings of the conference will be published in a special issue of the open access journal – The African Journal of Animal and Biomedical Sciences (AJABS) www.ajabsjournal.com. Therefore, please indicate your interest in having your paper published in AJABS when submitting the abstract. Following a preliminary review of your abstract by the journal, authors of shortlisted abstracts will be asked to submit a full paper for peer review and subsequent publication in the November 2015 special issue of AJABS.
