INVITATION
It is an honor and a pleasure for me to welcome you to the 23rd Annual Scientific Congress of the
Hong Kong College of Cardiology to be held on 29-31 May 2015 at the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel
& Towers, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
For years, the Annual Scientific Congress has served as an invaluable platform for exchange of
ideas on treatment, researches and discoveries related to heart disease among professionals.
This year’s Congress is strived to provide an excellent occasion for healthcare professionals to
acquaint themselves with the cutting edge knowledge in Cardiology and to look ahead to future
advances and breakthroughs. Reputable cardiologists from all over the world would be drawn
together to share their knowledge and experiences on areas of common interest.
In this Congress, we will have keynote lectures, presentations of research abstracts and case
studies, as well as exhibition on wide range topics in cardiovascular medicine and practice
ranging from Management of Hypertension in 2015 to Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation
(TAVI) for treatment of tight aortic stenosis, MitraClip for treatment of severe mitral regurgitation
and LAA Occluder for prevention of stroke in atrial fibrillation patients.
The well established and popular Joined Symposium between the Cross-straits Medicine
Exchange Association and Hong Kong College of Cardiology will continue to be held this year.
The GAP-CCBC Symposium adopts a clinical case based approach on guidelines and practice to
provide practical tips and tricks to our participants. The Joined Symposium between the World
Association of Chinese Cardiologists (WACC) and the Hong Kong College of Cardiology (HKCC)
will be held in the morning of 29 May 2015 which is another excellent platform for experience
sharing amongst Chinese cardiologists around the World.
The well received symposia of Paediatric Cardiology and Allied Cardiovascular Health
Professionals will continue to be held this year. Please do not miss out the Best Paper and PCI
Case Competitions which are two of the most distinguished sessions at the Congress. With a
three-day programme that includes a variety of different enlightening components, the Congress
will play a key role in efforts to combat this growing threat to global health.
