All equipment is provided, just wear gym clothes and non-skid shoes.
The Wilmington Family YMCA is the place to learn the game of
basketball. After all, the YMCA is where the sport of basketball
was born! Join us for our ALL STARS instructional program.
The focus is on learning the fundamental skills and having fun.
Our experienced instructors will guide your young player
through the beginning stages of ball-handling, shooting and
passing with fun activities designed to reinforce good habits in
preparation YMCA Leagues. We keep a 1:10 ratio of players to
instructors. We teach to the level of the student so repeat
players are always welcome! Repeat participants will continue
to improve and grow in skill level.
Notes on registering: All registrations must be completed online or at the
YMCA Front Desk. If you have any problems registering, please call or email
the Sports Department.

INSTRUCTOR BIOS
Demetrius Brown and Joy Manson have been teaching youngsters how to play for
years. Joy is a preschool lead teacher and played at UNCW. Demetrius has 17 years
of youth coaching experience and manages the Wilmington Sea Dawgs team. Their 5
year old son, Josiah Brown, (look for him on Youtube) is a basketball phenom. The Y
is thrilled to have them as instructors!
