Full PERA implementation is upon us! Have you made the connection between teacher practice and student growth?
Shelley Taylor, Director of Teacher Effectiveness, at the Consortium for Educational Change, will share her
expertise as we look at improving teaching and student learning in the context of collaborative structures. Teacher
evaluation systems need to move from being highly compliant to those supported by communities of practice as a
process for social learning. The key shift will be moving to practices and procedures where “teachers do with each
other as a community of learners.” Shelley will focus on different types of assessments that empower educators, the
art of reflective practice, and critical factors in the stages of change and how those should be considered when
establishing policy for teacher evaluation.
