Well, it is almost summer vacation time!! I’ll bet you all can’t wait! Lots of places to go, people to see, and things to do. I hope you will make room in your plans for several 4-H activities that will be taking place this summer. First, I hope many of you will be able to come to County 4-H Camp in July. Because of the recent rains, Lake Texoma is flooding in some places. The road into our camp is one such place. . . .so Cross Point Camp is closed until the water recedes. Just to be safe, and hopefully allow enough time to make the road into camp passable, we have changed our dates for camp. It will now be Friday, July 24 thru Monday, July 27th. Camp Counselors will be going early for final preparations on Thursday, July 23rd. I hope you all will still plan to come, because as always it promises to be a great time for all!! Please remember that June 26th is the deadline for project record forms and record books. Special award applications, and scholarship forms will be due on July 10th, with interviews scheduled for July 21st. Please visit our website for requirements for the banquet. We have all award applications in the office and will have them posted on our site shortly. Remember also that if you are in need of a ribbon and/ or a project there are still several opportunities. First, the County Pet Show is scheduled for Saturday, June 13th and 2nd is the Project Day on June 20. Not only can you try a project you have been wanting to, there will be a of couple ribbon activities available too.. So, until we see each other again . . . HAVE A GREAT SUMMER! Phyllis A. This summer, Cooke County will be well represented at state roundup. We will have 4-Hers competing in foods and nutrition, agriculture products identification and meats judging. We will also have our Share the Fun team competing with their skit titled “Can’t Stop the Green”. 4-Hers competing at roundup next month include: Michaela Blakesley, Sadhvika Chitoor, Ashley Downe, Zachary Downe, Austin Grant, Davis Grant, Ashley Hale, Jordan Hale, Gabby Hellinger, John Kilpatrick, Thomas Kilpatrick, Elijah Lewis, William Lewis, Katelyn McCormick, Sarah McCormick, Gillean Nixon, Kendall Pearse, Kaylee Sicking, Eleanor Smith, Matthew Smith, Victoria Smith, Jack Walker, Grant Wilson and Lizzy Wilson.
