Part of the Matza bed empire in West Yorkshire, Royal Bohemia is a
new brand for the contemporary and cosmopolitan customer blending
the finest British products and craftsmanship to create a unique
collection of luxury handmade bedsteads and headboards.

The Designer
Asif Ayub is a third generation upholsterer and second-generation bed
maker with a passion for fashion and the arts and a natural gift for
creative design.
Born and raised in West Yorkshire, Asif Ayub has been designing beds
since he was just 20 years old. A life-long passion for design, fabric and
art has inspired him to create Royal Bohemia - designs that are bold
and unique. Royal Bohemia is his vision, creation and design.
Inspirations
Royal Bohemia beds are modern classics. Every design follows two
questions; the first, when looking at the classic influence, is “what
makes this a classic?”. The second, thinking about the Royal Bohemia
design, is “what makes this design meet people’s lifestyle today?”
Art Decco represents glamour and style; French classics carry the
beauty of an age that people still aspire to today. By looking back we
can see how the design can resonate with the lifestyle of today. Royal
Bohemia beds are therefore inspired by the art, craft and design of a
previous lifestyle, designed to inspire today’s life.
Taking influences from the silhouettes of cars, shapes and structures
from architecture, the craftsmanship of design, colours of the arts and
fabric of fashion, Royal Bohemia creates a bed that is bound to today’s
lifestyle and inspired by the life we lead.

Morpheus is the son of Nyx, the primordial goddess of the Night. He is the god of dreams, the
elder and master of the Oneiroi, bringing dreams to mortals and gods who fall asleep under
his power. Morpheus has a special gift to take any human form and appear in dreams.
Morpheus is responsible for shaping dreams, or giving form to the beings that dwell in
dreams. Morpheus had a special duty to fashion the dreams of heroes and kings. For that
reason, Morpheus is considered superior and is called “the God of Dreams”.
The Morpheus Mattress is crafted and designed to be just right for you, to work to the needs
of your body. The multizone techniques shape around you and are designed to support key
areas of your body. The pocket springs complete the comfort and body experience. The
natural fibres in the pillow topper are designed to work to the seasons – the cashmere, lambs
wool and silk keep you warm in the winter and the cotton keeps you cool in the summer. All
combined to create the ultimate sleep and body experience.

CRAFTSMANSHIP
The base – When it comes to craftsmanship Royal
Bohemia is old fashioned. Rather than use slatted bases
the beds are a full divan base. The divan and the bedstead
are two separate pieces - the divan and the mattress drop
into the bedstead surround creating one complete and
crafted bed piece.
Build – Solid hard wood, all box jointed, glued, screwed
and stapled by hand, and upholstered using the finest
fabric from the mills of Yorkshire and Lancashire. The
upholstery is done the “Royal Bohemia” way – traditional
upholstery techniques that ensure sturdy, strong and clean
lines, and combined with cutting and sewing techniques
inspired by the modern fashion industry.
Timber – All from sustainable sources in the UK and
Europe.
Fabric - The purest fabrics – 100% linen threads, velvet is
100% cotton pile, leather of the finest type and 100% wool
from Yorkshire mills.
Mattress – The finest Belgian damasks cover the crafted
‘Morpheus’ mattresses. Royal Bohemia combine the new
foam technology with traditional materials and fabrics to
create a balanced mattress that delivers the ultimate
comfort. Supportive multi zone foam combined with
pocket springs create a quality crafted base topped by a
sumptuous pillow topper made from natural fibres such as
cotton, lambs wool, cashmere, silk and latex. Ultimately
creating the finest crafted mattress on the market.
